Poor monkey... His name is Darwin and the poor little guy looks so distressed in the videos :((

I know he's not supposed to be a pet, but he's been taken away from his home and now has to be nekkid in a cage instead of being warm (in a shearling coat and diaper) with his people. I'm not sure if his new digs are really better for him.

We really need stronger laws against keeping wild animals as pets.

:(sad

Long long long ago the very first cats and dogs "kept" by humans were wild.

I think he's going to be better off. He's being placed in a primate sanctuary and they will be pairing him up with a "motherly monkey" according to a news report I read. While we humans like to anthropomorphosize our pets, don't you think Darwin would rather be au natural than wearing a shearling jacket? He did look adorable though!

I'm just happy he made it from the parking lot to the store without getting hurt.

Is is against the law. The owners violated the law and the monkey got taken away for good. Whole thing is sad. What selfish people.

Poor little thing. I hope he'll be ok there.

I suggest watching Project Nim if you haven't. Very interesting though sad. It's about an experiment they did in the 70s with a monkey living amongst a family, being raised like a baby.
