Since turning 30 I have never felt old until you posted this poll where I had to click on the button that said 30-39 Thanks Chrono!!!!!

The (somewhat skimpy) results so far are proving DF right! 22 percent are indeed over 50 - as are 23%, 24%, 25%...

Sooo.... for the purposes of this extremely scientific study, are we calling that 22% part of the entire userbase, or only the ACTIVE users (say, >100 posts)? Because I'd bet that a great many of those guys posting in RT looking for engagement rings are in their 20s or 30s and are proposing for the first time. That'd skew your results (also, they probably wouldn't be in Hangout to see this poll!).

Because I'd bet that a great many of those guys posting in RT looking for engagement rings are in their 20s or 30s and are proposing for the first time. That'd skew your results (also, they probably wouldn't be in Hangout to see this poll!).

Remember: DF said that there were 22% of posters over 50, that includes the bottom two bars on Chrono's poll. She constructed it to show people over 50 and people over 60, but the people over 60 are also over 50. So the two bottom lines must be added together to get the 22%. At the moment this highly scientific poll is making it look as if there are more than 22% over 50 but under 60 alone!

BTW, the "highly scientific" remark I made wasn't a dig at how Chrono constructed the poll, it was the written equivalent of a choking sound I make whenever I think of the way we always conduct our polls here on Pricescope!!!

I am sure this "scientific" poll result will be different if it was posted in RT being that RT garners more traffic and is populated by a younger crowd (e-ring age). Yes, to read this accurately, one must add the 50+ and 60+ groups together. The only reason the two are broken up is assuage my curiousity.
