Wedding Pointless whimper thread

Gosh darn fedex! I never posted about this, but we sent my rings back to mark morrell for him to resize them way back on July 2nd. Before that he''d told us to just send them when we were ready and to let him know they were on their way. In the meantime, he decided to take an extended holiday after the 4th, and we didn''t see the posting on his website. Nobody''s fault really, but it meant my rings were going to be sitting in Concord waiting for him to return to the shop on the 14th. I''ve been going NUTS without my e-ring. Yesterday Mark emailed to say they were done, and he overnighted them by fedex. I expected to wake up this morning and be able to go pick them up at the local fedex station, but it says "delay beyond our control" on the tracking. The last thing the tracking says is "at local FedEx facility"....in BOSTON. I''m in MI.

So, I''m sad, because 3 weeks has been long enough! I want my babies back!! My shower is in Pittsburgh this weekend, so Fedex better have them to me before we leave town Friday or I''ll be majorly

Sigh. I called FedEx and the woman said there were both rain and plane delays, and that the package is scheduled now for tomorrow by 9am. I think I''m most frustrated because the longer the package is in the system, the more chances it has to disappear. I''m telling myself not to be paranoid, but we''ve all heard stories.

haha, I know! No DSS for me, I''m sure! I warned my MOH yesterday that she isn''t allowed to laugh at me for staring at it.

I'm so mad. My rings are STILL held hostage in East Boston, MA. I called Fedex, again, and they gave me the same reason of a weather delay. Apparently, they only ship out at night. Guess what the forecast is for tonight? Severe thunderstorms!!

I've lost all hope of getting my rings in time for the shower. I wish I wasn't so upset about it, but I am. My poor FI feels like a horrible person, because he actually feels kind of flattered seeing me cry over missing my rings.

This has been a disappointing week already (work stuff, my living grandmother just RSVP'd no to the wedding when the one who passed away earlier this year wouldn't have missed it for the world, etc). Of all the things that could still go wrong, not getting my rings when promised feels like one of the worst.

Sorry to hear about your rings, but the weather excuse is true. I''m in Boston and the weather was insane here yesterday and is still going strong today. If there weren''t a tropical storm/hurricane in the South, Boston weather would have definitely made the news. Lightening storms, flooding, high winds, hail, you name it, there was even a funnel cloud spotted in RI yesterday.

hooray!! The clouds parted long enough for fedex to get a plane out of Boston last night! FI is going to drive me to pick my rings up before work!!
