Hi Everyone!

I am looking for any pictures of brown and coral or coral and cranberry weddings, from the dresses to the decor, the flowers to the frou-frou, etc...

Now that my wedding has come and gone and my BFF got engaged the day after ours in Maui, it is time to plan! (Is it wrong of me to be SO excited that the planning for me is done and I can completely focus on her now??? I swear I can do stuff for everyone BUT myself!)

She was thinking of sometime next summer, but we found out her father''s prostate cancer is back and worse than before, so we all understand that we may have tosimply pull together and speed up this process a bit. She is currently not working, trying to move to her fiance''s, while at the same time painting, repairing, etc... to try get her house rented out. Currently she lives about 45 minutes away from me and when she moves, she will be about 1 hour and 45 minutes or so away, so I thought I would try to help her get the ball rolling ASAP since she is stressing out about anything and everything right now.

Bare bones...she is looking for a venue in Northern CA somewhere between Modesto and Sacramento, probably along the Hwy 99 corridor...I know they''ve looked into some wineries along there, but they are much more expensive than she thought they would be, so I am trying to find some less expensive options for appx. 75-100 people.

She is interested in a halter gown...she is about a size 5-7 with a large chest...she seems to like a lot of detail, but hasn''t had any time to go try dresses on yet.

She would like me and our other friend (the same bridesmaid from my wedding with the long blonde hair, if that helps you at all!) to wear a long, coral dress...she said she would like it to be a coral more on the pink side as she hates orange.

She is also thinking of brown as her other color, with possibly cranberry thrown in or in place of the brown...not sure how this would work in anything but a Fall wedding, but I am open to any ideas you all might have to be able to share with her!

Please help me find pictures with some ideas to share with her, especially ones that may work in a season other than Fall.

Any help would be very much appreciated! TIA, ladies, you''re the best!

how about this...i''ve gone onto david''s bridal and done multiple mock ups of the colors you were talking about! They are all meant to be separate ideas so don''t worry about the 4 brides and all different bridesmaids...something may catch her eye....

Thanks for chiming in, Rocks! I appreciate your help!

I''ll have to look at DB again and check out their coral dresses, too!

Thanks again, Rocks!

Morgie...those are some beautiful collages! I think they do look very winery appropriate...too bad they look a bit too expensive for my friend''s budget, but I''m all for DIY to make it look expensive!!!

Please keep the pix coming, ladies...I appreciate all your help!

Harleigh...i forgot to say that i''m sorry about your friends father. He will be in my prayers. I know how devastating having a family member suffering an illness can make your happiness in planning a wedding can make you feel selfish. I hope all goes well in the planning process.

Aww, thanks, Rocks...you are too sweet. Her dad is a little bit of everything mine isn''t, so he is very near and dear to my heart, also. He had surgery and went through chemo 10 years ago and has suffered from the effects of that ever since, but the cancer was gone for good, it seemed. Now it appears that it is back stronger than ever, and my friend''s mom is afraid that her dad just doesn''t have it in him to fight it this time.

I usually spend several weekends in the summer on their boat with them, but with my wedding in Maui, trying to move and starting the new school year, I just haven''t been able to go...it''s several hours away and ends up being about a 14-hour day, so as you can imagine, leaves me quite drained. My BFF finally told me how very serious he was just last weekend and asked me to go with them yesterday as it is their last weekend out on the lake this year, so I went to spend time with her and her folks. It was a great day, but very bittersweet to think it may be the last time we ever go out on the boat together like that, which is their all-time favorite thing to do with us.

Her dad will be 70 this year, so if he gives up trying to fight it, I''m afraid he will go down pretty fast. I plan to spend as much time with them as I can before that can happen...they''re the family mine wasn''t to me, and my friend is truly the sister I never had. I hope we manage to get this wedding planned with as little stress to her parents as possible and in a timely manner...which of course means we need to win the lottery to pay for the dang thing!!!

Thanks again for your well wishes...I pray for his good health every day.

Hi Harleigh!

I thought of this Threads advert when you said coral/brown/cranberry link I love these dresses, got one in deep red to be a bm a few years ago and originally wanted it dyed black, but now think its just great. They really fit and are quality fabric dresses, more spendy than Davids, but vastly better. Also so fun to peruse this site and see real life wedding parties.

how sad that your friend''s father has cancer, but how wonderful of you to step up to the plate and help her with this! I love the dress posted above!! I''ll keep an eye out for ideas as well!
