Please help me choose a pair! ID Pave/BGD Huggies/Studs?

I've got about $400, and I'm looking for a pair of sophisticated, fresh diamond earrings for daily wear.

I have to post links since I can't post pictures from ID Jewelry. I'd appreciate your thoughts!

If you don't have a pair yet, I would go for the solitaires. I have a 0.33tcw pair that is usually the first earring I reach for when looking for everyday earrings. Classy, sophisticated and discrete. They can also be worn with jackets and drops for variety.
 
Hi Tigian and Lady!

I do have diamond studs, and I'm usually wearing those or my akoyas. My current studs are a .25. I like the size, but wouldn't mind bigger. I don't have diamond huggies. I hope I fixed the link.

So that's one vote for huggies and one for studs?
 
I vote for the BGD huggies.

I can't speak for the quality of ID's melee but I do have a BGD band with melee about that same size. Holy COW those suckers pack a punch. The only melee I have for comparisons sake is in my LOGR semi-mount (which has full cut melee in it). I can definitely tell the difference in the performance of the two rings.
 
I really like the first set of ID Jewelry earrings you linked to! There's something nice and fluid about those. They get my vote!

I have been leaning towards the ID pave huggies. They're blingy and a pretty good bang for my buck. What's nice about the BGD huggies is that I could add small removable charms to them down the road, if I wanted to. So, crossing out option #3..

I went with a pair of .46 studs from ID jewelry. Yekeutiel picked them out and said that they had baby arrows. I can't wait till I get them!

I went to the mall to try on huggies to get a feel for them. Helzberg has a pair of huggies that are 1/4 carat with 6 diamonds in each ear, just like the BGD huggies. After I tried on studs, I just felt like they made a bigger statement on my ears. It was definitely helpful for me to try a similar carat weight on in person.

I had a feeling you would go for the I.D. huggies, and I am glad you are happy with your choice.

I have to say that I was impressed by their choice, and will be calling Yekutiel about several items. When do you get your earrings? I will look foward to your review.

After bonding with my BG huggies for a few days, I have to say that I feel they are perfectly suited for a younger girl. They are really cute, and well made, but very dainty. I will speak to BG about my options...

I just re-read your post! Can't believe I missed on the "studs" bit :loopy: I just saw I.D. and immediately thought pave huggies, as you ruled out studs early on. So, a complete turnaround decision?

Yay Indy! I hope you'll post lots of pics when you get them. I have 0.5 ctw studs and I think they're a great size - small enough for everyday wear, but big enough to pack a punch :)
 
Indy! How is it going?

You never posted pics of your lovely ID studs, or at least I never came across them. Are they in the 'show me your studs' thread?

My search for studs still continues, so I was hoping for a bit of info. Were your studs a preset pair, or matched certificated stones? Are they set in 14K white gold or platinum? And what color/clarity are they? If they were a stock pair, were you happy with the stones?

I have a pair of 25ct 'mutt' bezels and I love the style and the size, but not the diamonds. I am looking for something along those lines and I remembered that your studs sound similar. I would absolutely love to see them!
