Aisle markers are one of the things I''m really stumped on right now. We''re going full tilt Autumn theme (brown with reds, oranges, golds), leaves, rose petals, pumpkins, candles every where else but I cannot for the life of me figure out what to hang on the chairs to pretty up the ceremony site. I''ve purchased a grapevine wreath but I''m not quite sure what to attach to it hehe The view from the patio is amazing (as seen below) so we aren''t doing a lot up front; just two metal stands with 3 giant mums on each but I would like a little something to line the aisles.

Does anyone have any ideas I might be able to borrow? (I promise I''ll give them back when I''m done heeh)

Thanks!
~Heidi

Hi Heidi!

How about big candles in glass hurricanes for aisle markers? If you are having an evening-ish ceremony something like that would be gorgeous!!!!

Maybe something like this but with the ribbon in one of your wedding colors and the roses replaced with your wedding flowers?

Our wedding will be at 4 in the afternoon so hopefully right before sunset but the candles would be very pretty. Knowing how accident prone I am, I think avoiding fire so close to my big poofy dress might be a good idea though eheh It always makes me nervous when I see those big breakable or flameable aisle markers on either side of sweeping gown hehe Perhaps that could be a good use for the LED candles I bought though :)

Ooh that''s very pretty and classic. I might be able to do something with this. Roses just happen to be my wedding flowers anyways so it''s perfect :)

First, regarding the aisle markers, maybe something incorporating small sheaths of wheat could work (and keep with your fall/harvest theme). The below photo is a centerpiece, but you could probably use ribbon to attach a smaller sheath to chairs along the aisle. However, I also like aprilcait''s simple ribbon and rose pew decoration. Very pretty!

Second, I think I know where your wedding site is because we looked at it too! I won''t totally out you, but is it E_______ Mansion near lots of wineries? It''s a really gorgeous site! Do you live in the area? It would be fun to have another nearby bride on PS!

You are right on the money :) Good eye!

I''m actually from a town about 40 minutes to the West of that area but right now I''m living in TX so I''m planning the wedding from 1600 miles away. Talk about a challenge! The Mansion is beautiful but I''m starting to wonder about our choice of venue. We''re getting way more YESes than we anticipated because everyone has either been there and loved it or can''t wait to see it for themselves. Hopefully we''ll get at least a few Nos so we can fit everyone in ;)

On the upside, the Mansion is so pretty that it''s probably hard to have a bad a wedding there hehe so I don''t need to totally stress :D

Fun! I''m from PA originally, but I''m currently in grad school in the region of the country where your wedding will be. We liked the Mansion but decided on another venue further east for a variety of reasons. One reason was that the Mansion was a bit smaller in terms of how many guests it could hold than we thought we might need. I''ll keep my fingers crossed for you that you start getting some Nos (I know it sounds terrible to hope people can''t come, but I fully understand!!) But I think you are right that even if the space is a bit tight no one will really notice/care because the venue is so cool. Plus, if it''s nice evening, people can still utilize the patio during the reception, so that would add some space. Anyhow, I look forward to seeing photos after the wedding!

Hey, quick question/thread jack- do you have a photographer lined up yet? If so, do you mind telling me who? We are just starting to look into photographers and would like to get as many suggestions/recommendations as possible. Thanks!

Heidi- Dunno how much of the winery theme you''re going for, but here''s what my aisle flowers looked like.

The pic isn''t the best- the hanger incorporated red roses, a bunch of grapes, ivy and branches. Our florist said that they were very easy to make.

I never dreamed we''d be at max capacity at the Mansion either but I should have known better. Nate is from a big family and they all seem to love a good wedding. There are a lot of great choices in the area though so I''m sure your venue will kick just as much butt hehe. When are you getting married?

I lucked out and booked our photographers last year right before their rates went up a bit but they are still very reasonably priced for their package. We just got our engagement photos done and you can view a few sneak peek photos here: http://argentoblog.com/index.cfm?postID=75 I''ll attach one of our favorites just in case ;) They do really great work and they were a lot of fun to hang out with :)

Ok those are AMAZING. There''s no way a do it yourself''er like me could pulling anything like that off. I''d be willing to try though hehe Awesome!

Thanks for the photog reference! I'm going to go check out your photos right now. We're getting married late May of 2009, so we need to find a photographer soon before they all get booked up!

And, one more aisle decoration idea. You mentioned that you already have some grape vine wreaths. If you want to use those, you could just do something like this with a few roses and greens. Good luck figuring something out!

I have nothing to add but I wanted to say how absolutely gorgeous your site is!!! So jealous.

Aww thanks. I''m still kind of in disbelief that I''m getting married there. I feel, at times, like an imposter. Especially after the coordinator showed me some of the albums of previous weddings there. I just keep telling myself that my little homespun wedding is worth just as much attention as the budget breakers ;)
