Please can you help me decide between 2 pendants?

My husband has told me he wants to get me one of these two pendants for xmas from my little boys. However, I cant decide either! One looks much bigger than the other but are both approx 2cm. I initially chose the more ornate one but wonder now whether to go for the more simple pendant. I really like both. I have classic taste, but love bling! My engagement ring is a lovely solitaire diamond with a very thin shared diamond prong wedding ring (to give you an idea of my taste). Any views really appreciated. Thank you. x

They're both beautiful! I especially like the first one, though. I like the design.

Thank you for replying. Its hard buying online but so much cheaper! Im sure if both were in front of me I would decide straight away!

Nice options! what appeals about the top/first one, is that it is unique - I haven't seen a heart like that before and I like the baguettes. The thing about baguettes is they tend to be very white (woo hoo!) but not as sparkly.
What appeals about the bottom/second one, is the bling factor. The simple heart is very classic.

Two different looks, two different diamond cuts.... 1 big decision for you! THey are both lovely. Good luck :))

Thank you Enerchi, I think you have hit the nail on the head, the difficulty is they are both such different looks, that its like comparing chalk and cheese and therefore hard to decide between!

Sounds like we have similar taste in general -- & I go much more for No. 1 Pendant. It's still simple but more elegant (I also love baguettes, I confess). Another attractive part is the ribbon-y shape of the top of the heart, makes it unique. The 2nd one is nice but nothing special; versions of that are very common. The top pendant has style without being gaudy, looks richer to me.

Enjoy whichever you decide on! I want your DH to talk to mine!! :D

Thanks Jewelfreak. I agree the first is unusual and there are many versions of the second. However, I know I will love the second when I get it but I will only love the first if it lives up to the picture. Its really about whether to take a little risk and enjoy something a little different or go classic. I have decided to sleep on it! PS I made my husband buying me the pendant sound a little more spontaneous than it is! Lots of hints (and waiting) usually go on before he has an "idea" like this! lol

I personally like the first one. Maybe because (in today's sense of fashion in fine jewelry) it is the more unexpected choice??

The second one is pretty, but . . . it appears to have more of a mass market appeal . . . to me.

But if you like number 2 best, then get number 2. It only matters that you receive something you really like and would wear often.

What are your other jewelry pieces like? Do you want to stay in or go out of, your comfort zone? Would you prefer more of what you are used to or try something unusual for your taste? Which makes your heart sing when you take a quick glance at it?

Just throwing things out there for you to consider.

Hey!! Get BOTH! :Up_to_something:

My vote is for the second one. I like the minimalism. I like the symmetry. :))

Getting both would certainly solve the problem!!!! I dont get 'fine' jewellery very often. Also, as its from the boys, I would like to wear it on a daily basis. The first one has had me excited most of the day and just as I was about to hit order, I started considering the second. I have had both in my basket in the last 2 hours! I do now how to take the fun out of things! I worry about such silly things!

Thanks ladies!

Sara

I really like the first. Can you share who the vendor is?

I love the first but I think the second will sparkle more because of the round stones. What a thoughtful DH!!

First one.

Baguettes tend to flash and rounds stones tend to sparkle. So, that's a preference, sparkle versus flash. I love a flash, myself.

BUT if the first one has low-clarity stones, it could be disappointing. Round cuts tend to hide more stuff than baguettes.

What's the diamond quality on these?

I dont actually know but it will be a web based UK site. He has given me the photos and description but not prices. Im very loose with my language, so when i said i'd had both in my basket I meant theoretically! ;)

You have so much more choice in the USA, I recently had my wedding set reset and contacted Victor Canera? However, the import tax just made it so costly! I have a 1 carat solitaire and in the UK most people think its huge! Only celebrities have over 1 carat! On here, my jaw hits the floor at some of your jewellery. My husband was very generous with my engagement ring. However, most UK men would have a heart attack if asked to spend what American men are prepared to spend. The upgrading over the years is also alien here - however I love the idea and my reset was my 10th wedding anniversary pressie. I just love admiring all your bling!

Im not sure as I havent seen the site he is getting them from. I imagine that he wouldnt spend more than about $1500, so not great. Thanks for the advice though.

its 11pm and so im signing off for the evening now. Thanks for the advice ladies, Merry xmas! ;)

he should get you one for each son so you can have both...perhaps more?...and not have to make these kind of decisions!!!!!

however, push come to shove, i really don't like the 2nd one but LOVE the first one as it is unique and yet classy. :appl:

They're both really pretty but I like the 2nd one better.

Before reading any replies (so I wouldn't be influenced), I just looked at both and my choice was #2. But either will be beautiful and the sentiment behind this gift is so sweet!

The second one looks more modern to me. That would be my preference.

LIke so many others, I like both pendants but I love the fluidity of the first one, so that would be my choice.

First one, hands down.

I prefer the first one, but find that step cuts get gunked up too easily and then the performance is hugely impacted. If you have an ultrasonic or steam cleaner and use it-- the first. If not, the second.

Oh some lovely suggestions, I have admired the key before! Apparently, its all sorted. I told my husband why i liked each and he said not to worry anymore he knows what to do! I know its greedy but I did get the impression that I might be getting both! Ill have to wait and see. Thanks very much ladies. That Tiffany key is now on my list of future necklaces!

Oh, I sure hope you end up with both!! after all, you do have TWO boys... they each want to give mommy something for Christmas.... :Up_to_something:

I keep coming back and browsing your selections and if it were me, I think I'd go for the first one. I really like the fluidity of the heart and the baguettes. That ribbon look is really cool, IMHO.

I like the ribbon-like shape of the first heart. It's very pretty!

I vote for the first one although both are lovely.

Second one, I think the first one looks cheesy.
