This is for no apparent reason, but I''ve been really moody for the past couple of days - probably just PMS or something, but it seems as if nothing is going really right and it''s bumming me out. Tonight, we had our engagement pics b/c it was part of our package. They were just in studio shots - nothing artsy or cool like others that have been posted here, but I was looking forward to it. There were a ton of tiny things that aggravated me before we even got to the studio that aren''t even worth mentioning, but we got there and took our pics and everything was fine.
Then we sat down with the photog to go over details of the wedding day. (The photog is not the person we had met with when we put down our deposit - that was the videographer so this was the first time meeting this guy.) I''m not happy.
1 - The video guy had set that when we set up our engagement shoot, that would be when we''d meet our day of photographer and get a feel for him. . . This photographer said it still wasn''t certain who would be there day of.
2 - I''d already made the decision that I don''t want pics taken with FI in my gown before the ceremony. I understand that it would be easier to get those shots out of the way, but that *moment* of walking down the aisle is a big part of the day for me and it is non-negotiable. This photographer was really trying to change my mind and it kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
3 - We''re still trying to decide btwn edited vs. non-edited video. The guy we''d met previously quoted us an $800 price difference and said that we could even make the decision after the wedding b/c the unedited video could then just be edited. This photographer quoted us a $1000 difference and said we needed to choose beforehand b/c the shooting style would be different.
4 - The major factor when choosing a photog was someone who was familiar with our site so that they''d know where to go for pics right away and expedite the portrait process (to make up some of that I-won''t-take-pics-beforehand time). This photographer has never been to our site!!!!
I wasn''t excited about the shots he was taking of us, but I guess I''ll wait to see how they come out (he said they''d be done in the next few days) and then call the videographer to see what''s going on. Unless these pics somehow come out stellar, I don''t really wan this guy.
