Philly GTG possibilities?

Hey guys,

So the first GTG I went to was a blast (shiny shopping with the gals is infinitly more fun than with the hubby!), and I'd love to do it again!

I know the next few months are jam packed with holiday related stuff, but is anyone interested in fitting in some relaxing jewelery fun time? We could revisit Jewelers Row and try on some pretties to make "wish lists" for the hubbies for the holidays.

Also, there are a lot of newlywed Philly PSers, would anyone be interested in getting together for a "White party" where we wear our dresses, or maybe just get together to see each others photos and be nostalgically girly? We could ask admins for email addresses if there's a lot of interest, in order to discuss maybe meeting up at a private residence, I'd be willing to volunteer my place since I have a nice set up for digital photo viewing.

Just a feeler to see how many people might be interested, when, and for what.

I have a lot of road blocks plans-wise in the coming weeks through to the holidays but I have the weekend of December 11th open right now. I''d LOVE to work something out like this.

I am FB friends with Octavia and PrincessPlease in this area if you want to try to reach me through them.
 
I also would love to do this but have a ton of things going on through the holidays. Unfortunately the weekend of the 11th is not all that good for me since I have overnight shifts both days. I could possibly do something in the late afternoon, especially at MTG''s house since it''s close to where I work, but I have to work at 7 both nights.

But honestly, no weekend is really good for me because of my work schedule, so that weekend may be best after all. I got the shaft when it came to scheduling these months, and I''m working every weekend until my holiday break. The best days for me would probably not be good for everyone else.
 
Eh, doesn't have to be before the holidays if it's really tough to schedule, we can always try for after New years (wahoo 2010!), and window shop for 1st anniversary gifts

Just wanted to offer that I am fairly open after the holidays if thats better for JStar. The only weekend I am away is Jan 23/24. Beyond that I don''t have any plans written in stone.
 
I''d be down for whatever! I work every third weekend, though. And DH''s bday is Jan 9th, so that''d be out.

They''re supposed to post the winter dates for restaurant week soon. You can follow them on twitter, but I don''t have a twitter or FB. I think I have some of your email addresses, though.

MTG, what happened to your Santa hat?

Starfire, that stinks about your schedule. I only work 3 nights a week, so I have a lot of free weekdays. I''m sure Jeweler''s Row is open later for the holidays, so a weekend evening may actually work - depending on everyone else''s schedule, of course.
 
My schedule''s pretty crammed through the holidays too but I would love to meet some fellow PS''ers in person. January''s a lot more open for me.

All my real-life friends are bored out of their minds by jewelry talk.

January sounds good for me. I have an overwhelming amount of schoolwork due between now and 12/22, so it''s going to be very hard to get out on a weekend. In January, the 9th is the only day I''m unavailable. I''m going out with the bridal party to get them fitted for their dresses.

OK, I started a mailing list, if you haven't been invited yet, you can ask the admin to send me your email address. Since we might be meeting up at a private residence, I think it'd be safer to discuss things outside a public forum.

But it sounds like after the holidays works best., My birthday is Jan 9th too! Hehe. And if we wait till after the holidays, we can show off any shiny xmas gifts we might have gotten too! Hehe, I will hopefully have my avatar tanzanite back by then, and knowing Jstar, she'll probably have a whole bunch of new goodies to share!

And don't worry Stephbolt, you can wear your prom dress, hehe.

Haha, same. It''s nice to "rocky talk" with people as into it as I am. I have Secrets of the Gem Trade, which I will bring to try to lure you guys into the world of colored gems (well, more so that you are already lured, haha). The photos are just gorgeous!

Oh my god if only I could still fit into my prom dress... maybe I''ll have to wear a recent bridesmaid''s dress instead...
 
Bummer, I was going to suggest the 23rd/24th, since that''s one of the earliest times I''m actually available. I don''t suppose Saturday Jan 2 would be a good time? I''m post-call that day so would be able to meet after 3ish.

Since I seem to be a pretty limiting factor in terms of the schedule, I''ll just post what I''m doing every weekend from January through March to see if we could work something out...

1/2-1/3: post-call Saturday (would be free after 3), working noon-midnight Sunday

1/9-1/10: working overnight Saturday, would be free after sleeping until about 3 on Sunday...but this is also the start of my 2 weeks of vacation and I''d like to get a jump on seeing my husband in Pittsburgh

1/16-1/17: on vacation but most likely out of town

1/23-1/24: on vacation and available, but sounds not so good for others

Next four weekends: my schedule hasn''t been set yet and most likely won''t know when I''m available until the start of that block, but I have the possibility of some free time on weekends.

2/27-2/28: free and available!

3/6-3/7: free and available!

So...any thoughts on those times in late Feb or early March? Or the day after New Year''s?
 
I''m going to be in China until Jan 3rd. Other than that, not too many restrictions, though I don''t get my weekend call schedule till I get back.
 
I''m away MLK Weekend (Jan 16th/17th I think) and also away the next weekend in January. Nothing lined up on a weekend after that.
 
I''ll also be away MLK weekend(16th/17th), and have to travel to meet with our officiant on Sat the 23rd. Other than that no restrictions at this point.
 
I''m working the weekends of 1/2 and 1/23... and every 3rd weekend after that.

Free: 1/10, 1/16 & 1/17, 1/30 & 1/31

My schedule''s not set yet for after 1/22, though. I can always switch my weekends with someone.

Seems like Sun 1/10 would work for a lot of us... except JStar, who wants to get a jump on seeing her hubby. JStar, are you planning on driving?
 
I''m still free all days but 1/9. 1/10 actually would work very well for me if it does for others as school still will not have started yet. However, I am open to any day but the 9th.
 
Hey Lynnie! I''m not sure how I''ll get to see him. He has the car so he may in fact be driving toward me, which would make the GTG a very real possibility...but I also may decide to fly toward him, which would most likely negate it. I just have to check with him regarding his schedule first, but it sounds like 1/10 isn''t too bad.

Hey Liane, could you send the mods a request to have them give me your email address? Since the "dress party" may occur at a private residence, we don''t want to discuss our private address info etc on here.
