Perplexing...Another Skyscraper Ring

As I was perusing Craig's List for the heck of it, I stumbled upon this. Hmm, this perplexes me as to why a jeweler would actually set a diamond like this? It's not aesthetically pleasing nor safe. This ring could have looked so much nicer if that diamond was actually set into the ring correctly. Things that make you go hmm...

Maybe a James Bond type fighting ring - it rises when you need to poke out an eye, but otherwise, is a low set stone when you deflate something???

A match to the "King Kong helipad" of the other ring?

Someone obviously must have believed a myth that setting a diamond high will make it look larger!! (Fact: NOT TRUE!!)

Wow, that just looks ridiculous! I would honestly have it set lower and then try to sell it. I can't imagine anyone wanting to wear a setting with the diamond set that high.

And I thought mine was set too high! But at least my new and improved 6-prong head has been put on my ring and I get to pick it up today

This one at least has some flair. It reminds me of a turret or cupola - I can just picture Rapunzel tossing a thick braid of hair down to her prince, or Juliette leaning out from under the diamond, plaintively asking, "Wherefore art thou, Romeo?"
