When you receive a refund from a vendor via Paypal, do you always lose out on the Paypal fees or do some vendors overcompensate you to make up for them? I'm just curious, I know of it happening both ways. I assume vendors regularly charge an amount that is slightly inflated to make up for their own loss of Paypal fees. But this means that in the case of a refund, the buyer never actually gets the entirety of their money back.
I guess I've always told myself that I can buy and try something with no real loss if it doesn't work out, when a vendor has a good return policy. But that is not true. With my latest return, the $60 of return shipping, loss of Paypal fees, and the difference in the exchange rate, my 'no loss' transaction has cost me about $100. For nothing.
This makes me realize that I need to be very sure about future purchases.
