TMZ is reporting that he died.

I''ll pray for his family.

I''m just so thankful that he was allowed a bit of privacy the last few months. It''s almost shocking that he''s gone though.

How sad! I couldn''t find a new story reporting it, but someone has already updated his Wikipedia page to show his date of death as today......

How sad

I can''t help watching Dirty Dancing every time it''s on TV. I must''ve seen it 25 times.

He will be missed...

Oh, that makes me very, very sad.

This is so sad. My prayers go out to his family.

I can''t believe he was only 57. I am sad for his family, it must be a huge loss for them.

So very sad. We lost a great one. Prayers outigoing to his wife and his family. He fought a very tough battle. He was so brave.

Another childhood figure gone. Sigh.

Whenever my cousins and I would go to my grandparents house we''d pick blackberries from the bushes, pile on the couch and watch dirty dancing.

Oh, I just had to call my mom. She and I were equally in love with Swayze during the 80''s. Some of our favorite movies were his "flops."

There are at least four news releases now if you want to google again.

He owned arabians, so I was just slightly connected having known some of his horses, and been able to talk to some of his farm staff, he even posted on the arabian talk forums now and again. So sad.

So sad.

He fought a courageous fight against such a terrible disease. Prayers to his family, and especially his wife of 31 years.

Heartbreaking.

I am shocked...last I heard, he was said he was doing well.

My thoughts are with his family.

too!

So sad! I just made my husband watch North and South on dvd a few weeks ago. I was a huge fan of his. He will be sincerely missed.

He was an awesome actor!! I loved all the romantic movies he was in like Ghost. Prayers go out to his family. I am glad though that he''s no longer suffering and he was surrounded by family during his final moments.

I got an email alert about it from CNN during my class just now and couldn''t believe it - I thought he was doing better these last few months. I remember reading an article about him and his wife a few months ago and I''m just so sad for her and their families.

I saw it on cnn.com a little bit ago-had to call my mom and tell her. Roadhouse was one of my favorites.

May he RIP. My mom loved him.

I''m very sad that Patrick Swayze has passed away, but he had a cancer that no one ever comes back from and we knew that his passing was inevitable. My husband and I lost three people to PC years ago. Each lived only a few short months after diagnosis. In fact his Aunt only lived for one month. We lost a lovely lady from our marriage group this summer to the same illness. She lived an amazing two years. At least people are living a little longer and are being given some time with their families to say good bye. It''s still very sad. By all accounts, he was a good man in all ways. I''m sorry for his wife''s loss. They were together since they were kids. Lisa''s heart must be broken.

I was so, so sad to hear this.

Rest in Peace, Patrick!

So sad. I think he and his wife were married for like 34 years, which is VERY impressive! My heart just breaks for her.

Sad. He was a fellow Houstonian. And we are about the same age, causes one to pause and reflect on your life.
I know he had his vices, but it seems he had a very full and exciting life. RIP

My heart and well wishes are extended to his family, and all the hearts of those he touched.

It''s very sad, he was so young and such a vibrant person too.

Doesn''t it seem like a lot of icons are dying this year?

I loved him in so many movies... But for some reason my favorite is To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar. Hahah it''s so terrible that it''s good.

I''m so sad to see that he passed.

Oops! I just posted a Swayze thread... didn''t see this one here.

I am so sad... I grew up watching him and just adored him! He actually was a really genuinely nice, kind person!
