Parking woes - sigh.

We live near a train station so our street is favoured by commuters. Unfortunately due to roadway planted Palms the parking space to one side of my driveway is only a “half space”.
I can’t count the number of times our driveway has been obstructed over the past 20 odd years but with “permitted” roadway marking indicating the driveway access area, a sign on our driveway gate “no parking, keep clear” and most recently the designated 2 hour parking limit, residents excepted, things have been better.
Up until yesterday.
I just thought I’d share with you how selfish and inconsiderate people can be. And no, I wasn’t able to get my car out.
On the plus side the Council Ranger did attend and fine them.
It is with much delight I can advise that the fine is $660.
Ouch.

There’s about 10 parking spaces on the corner of 48th and sixth Avenue in Manhattan. It’s metered off parking in the evening and on weekends.
Well, Fox News (?) is located right on that corner.
They take these movable barricades and block off the 10 spaces.
I get there and just move those suckers.
It’s been fine for the last year or so- but last Sunday someone came out and started hassling me.
Screw Fox.
Maybe I wouldn’t be so peeved of it was CNN….. argh

I suppose a motorcycle could fit into the space without blocking the driveway; a cone would block that legitimate usage.

When my folks lived in FL a block from the beach, during Spring Break people would park on their front lawn. They had to put large rocks at the edge of their lawn to stop that.

I’m surprised the city or town wouldn’t issue a ticket for this. What if there were an emergency and you couldn’t get out of your own driveway?

I think they did. She said they fined them $660. I made the assumption it was ticket for $660.
