Wedding Parents seating question

for seating the parents, is there certain rules? for a round table, should it be


His Dad, His Mom, My dad, My Mom...

or does it matter? thanks

I don''t think it matters. We did assigned tables NOT assigned seating (except the head table). Our parents sat at different tables. Mine with their closest friends/family. His parents with their friends/family.
