Yes to #6 on that list! Although when they change their minds weekly it is a challenge. I have found some winners though:
Soup is almost always a hit
Meatloaf, found a recipe everyone likes and it is never dry
Thin sliced chicken breasts breaded and baked in the oven, can't make enough, they eat them up.
I purposely do not buy a lot of snacks, no cookies or chips or crackers, if they are on hand they are reserved for school snacks. This forces them to eat the yogurt and fruit in the house before it goes bad. Although the accepted flavors change constantly.
