Hi Tacori - I hope you see this!

I am just in the process of printing my invites, and noticed you also had a tear-off RSVP. Would you mind telling me how thick your paper was? Did you get a special weight to make sure that it worked at the post office?

TIA!!

Hi i''m not tacori e-ring, but I might be able to answer your question. I was going to do the perforated rsvp cards before we redesigned our inserts, but I was using 100# coverstock and a carl paper trimmer with a perforating blade. I went to the usps website and found that the minimum thickness was .007". I test sent 2 60# coverstock postcards to two different locations and both were sent with no issue. I think the 60# cardstock might be just about .007".

Just for you information, the minimum/maximum size thickness is:

Rectangular.

-Not less than 3‑1/2 inches high, 5 inches long, and 0.007 inch thick.

-Not more than 4‑1/4 inches high, or more than 6 inches long, or greater than 0.016 inch thick

Thanks GTN - that is good advice. I''ll see if I can find that weight and see if it works in Canada.

I am just seeing this now! Sorry! gtn gave you some helpful guidelines. You do have to make sure they are not too small or too large. In Canada you might have different "rules." I can''t remember if I used 100# or 110#. Either way it was pretty standard. I went to a local printing place to have them professionally perforated. It was pretty cheap and worth it to have a nice, clean tear. People really liked the whole concept. I can''t wait to see what you come up with! Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! My invites went out and the postcards are coming back no problem. I only used 80lb (bought and printed before thinking about weight for postcards) but I sent a trial one to myself and it came back to me!

I think if I did it again, I''d go heavier, but meh - it worked!

Thanks anyways!

Oh good! It''s fun getting them back too b/c you don''t have to open up an envelope (you see RIGHT away who is coming and who isn''t). I am glad it worked out for you and sorry again for the delay. I don''t often check BWW.
