Well, I feel like I can't keep my head on straight these days.... so many details to keep track of, so many things still left to do! I'm in town for just a few more days... I leave Sunday for Texas. So I'm trying to finish up at work, while not being able to focus on work, get the house ready for the 2 weeks with the petsitter, guiltily buying new toys for the cats, packing for the wedding AND honeymoon, and, um, did I mention going crazy? I just feel like I must be missing something...
Most of what I have left to do is week of stuff anyway, but here it is:
1) makeup trial - don't have appointment
2) eyelash extensions - have appointment
3) assemble out of town bags - mom is shopping for goodies
4) dress fitting - first thing Monday morning!
5) 3rd hair trial - don't have appointment
6) get marriage license - Wednesday morning when M arrives
7) meet with officiant - have appointment for Wednesday afternoon meet with day of coordinator - looking forward to handing everything off to her
9) assemble programs - already printed, ribbon received... just need to put together
10) put ribbons on flower girl baskets - it's ok if I skip this, but I'll try
11) photocopy agenda, timeline and contact list for all participants
12) FINISH agenda, timeline and contact list! - mostly done, not quite finished
and most importantly... PACK!!!
oh, and practice our dance again.
I'm really looking forward to next Friday... I have a massage appointment, a hair appointment, then the bridesmaid lunch, rehearsal, and rehearsal dinner! And then Saturday.... I'm really hoping to keep FMIL away from me for most of the day!
I''m really curious to hear how the eyelash extensions go! I stumbled accross them while looking for info on hair extensions after my disasterous haircut 6 months ago. I''d never heard of them before, but they look really cool!
A lot of the women in my office get eyelash extensions regularly so I''ve talked to them about it and decided it would a good idea because my eyelashes are pretty sparse but my contacts make it difficult to wear really thick mascara because my eyes tear a lot. I figured why not just have them through the honeymoon so I won''t have to wear mascara! (not that I would have worn it to the pool anyway.... but...) My mom sort of laughed when I asked her to find a place and make an appointment for me. She assigned it to my sister whose daughter gets them for her rodeo pageants. I''m a little nervous that they will be "too much" but I''ll ask them to trim them down if they look scary!
I think they glue them between your own lashes, not onto them, but I''m not quite clear on that. They''re longer and they sort of "fill-in" your lash line.
I''m sure this kind of thing won''t become a habit! At least I hope not...
I''m down in Texas and my head is spinning from appointments, but it''s going pretty well. I had my fitting yesterday and my dress is now TOO BIG. Figures. Last time it was too small, I made lots of progress on losing the weight I needed to lose for the dress, and it looks like I went too far, BUT he''s altering it right now and it will be perfect on Saturday. I''ll post pics when I have them. The sleeves are great and I was thrilled with the work he did.
Met with my Day Of Coordinator and she wanted us to cut the cake as soon as we walk into the reception "for pictures" but I said "no way"! I was kind of annoyed... we''re not doing the wedding for the pictures... the pictures are a "side effect". Luckily she was understanding when I handed over my version of the schedule. I had to pull my bride card on that one. We want what we want, eh ladies? Anyway, she''s sweet enough, just didn''t really "get it".
off to Target for gift wrap for the attendants, dropping the ribbons off at the baker, then getting my eyelashes EXTENDED...
Yay! I''d love to see your dress pics, if you get some! LOL, and your eyelashes, too. I''m so curious about that procedure. Because of my contacts, I think I''d be very paranoid about them coming off and getting in my eyes.
I went to the eyelash appointment and the lady talked me out of it! She said that when I jump in the pool or play in the ocean on my honeymoon they would fall off... the salt water and the chlorine would ruin the adhesive... so it wouldn''t be worth it to spend $200 to have them put on and then have them all fall out! I thanked her for her honesty and then she ordered the MAC lash strips for me so I''ll use those instead for a grand total of $12. I thanked her profusely.
So, with the Salt Water thing, Selkie you should probably avoid them!
My groom arrives today and we are going to get our marriage license and meet with our officiant! YAY for making it legal! Weather is still looking iffy and I''m trying not to freak out.
