Overly Critical??

Maybe it's me being overly critical, but after reading that Tom Cruise apologized in person to Brooke Shields recently (see story here - http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=232578&GT1=7701) about the whole antidepressants thing...all I could think was....DAMAGE CONTROL! Maybe not, but in my mood today, it seems like it. Why apologize now?!

Trying to undue the damage to his image??

I thought the same thing. Seems like this came out of no where, as in how convenient??? Brooke said she thought his apology was heart felt, but sheesh, the timing of it all made me think why now?? Maybe I am being overly critical too, but hard for anybody not to be??? Just so random. Guess we''ll have to wait and see....

I felt the same way. Ridiculous. I''m sure he never would''ve apologized if it weren''t for this whole severing of his relationship with Paramount. I think he is being totally fake.

I was thinking damage control too! Since he was dropped from paramount maybe he realized it was a reality check to act more pc. He needs a better publicist.

The whole apology rang very insincere with me as well. Seemed to be nothing but damage control. And for me, really, the damage is done...

A little too little, a little too late. Why didn''t he apologize months ago? Oh wait, his production company was still under contract with Paramount and he had a "blockbuster" film coming out. Gee, it''s a few months later and he''s been dropped by Paramount and MI3 tanked. Time for damage control. Sincere apology? Yeah, right. Don''t forget Brooke, he''s an actor, he can play just about any emotion and make it seem real.

His problems started a few years back when he fired his publicist (manager?) and hired his sister for the job.......I don''t think his huge ego allows for him to take advice from anyone anyway. I''m waiting for Katie to lose all of her baby weight so they can get married (I heard that he wants her thin for the wedding pix).....
