Only a man would consider this an acceptable solution.

It erased my post. Drat it.

To summarize: Your posts made me laugh. Yes, the lack of duct tape is surprising. If he had twisted the things into a different shape it would have been better. Kenny, maybe =) And it is a Klassy look.

I bought chain. It looks a lot better. The pic is dark, but it was night.

looks good to me... :appl:

That is EXACTLY what I was going to post.

Men Rock! :wavey:

Yeah, I was thinking what's wrong with it? LOL!

The funny thing is, if this exact same photo was posted on some site that dealt with home decoration, the same number of people who are swearing here that only a man would do something so stupid, would be cooing about how clever it was, how shabby chic, and how they were going to go out and do it right now, only they'd use pink paint, or faux stone paint, or tie ribbons on theirs.

I have catnip growing in my kitchen. Right on my kitchen table.

I am not going to claim that my cats never get up there, but they leave it alone. Its almost like out of sight, out of mind for them. If I snip some they will be all over it. If I sit it on the floor they are all over it.

Two of my cats can and will find anything fresh and investigate it. I have to be careful with all houseplants and cut flowers. No matter where I put them. And catnip just gets mauled. No matter where I put it. One of them finds it. The second comes over. The third and fourth are always right behind to make sure it's nothing they are interested it. And when it's catnip they are interested. Then they all grab a part of it and next thing I know there's dirt everywhere, stoned cats rolling around, and crushed catnip leaves underneath them. You are very lucky in your cats.

I admit the chains look better. Congrats on your new hanging plants, Gypsy!

That's quite a visual! I've actually never had a cat that likes catnip. I don't know if Siamese cats aren't drawn to it like other cats. I just bought Cassanova a super cool mouse that has catnip inside and does a realistic squeeze when touched and he looked at it for a little while and then walked away.

Anyways, much better with the chain!

Hera-- if I ever think of it, I'll see about getting a video (on the patio, not inside thankyouverymuch). But yes, it is a funny visual.

If you want to see if your cat likes catnip, toys aren't a really good indicator I've found. Just get good quality dried (like Krazycat) and put it in one palm, then put your other on top of it and ground up the catnip a bit to release it's scent then put it on the ground and when your cat comes up, if they eat it, lick it or roll in it, you'll know you have a catnip loving cat.

Yes, I want a video!!!!!!!

I'll try crushing it. I bought him a plant once from the grocery store and he didn't show an interest but I didn't crush it either.

I got one uploading to FB for you.

The chains do suit better

I stuff catnip into old nylons and stick it in the microwave for a few seconds and they go nuts ::)

Oh maaaaan...I was totally digging the hippie resourceful look until you went all HGTV on me! Okay, I admit, your tweaks make it pretty. :wavey:
