Cleo I am totally with you. I am 8/28/2010 too and I logged on The Knot and it said "365 days until your wedding!" and I was like OMG. OMG. O. M. G.

Yay!!!! Congrats! The freak out is totally normal. I remember feeling like I was thisclose to the wedding when I was a year away. Now, I can''t believe I''m 11 months out. It seems SO far, but it actually is flying by.

Haha! Isn''t it a hoot? I think that this feeling will pass. I just passed my one year countdown mark as well (8/21). I was excited for it to come and then all of a sudden it was like "oh no! NOW I ACTUALLY HAVE TO DO STUFF!" as opposed to before when my feeling was, ah, plenty of time to worry about that latter. (can you tell I''m a procrastinator?) It was really important to me for us to have a great photographer so I''ve made that the focus of my attention for things that must get done soon. We have a meeting with who I hope it will be in the next week.

Cleo, I''m at 372 days (the knot needs to make that option hideable geez) and I freak out like every other day. My planning vision is in place, so I mostly just suffer from wedding budget guilt.

I don''t think I ever freaked out before my wedding. I don''t think I ever felt it was "soon" - in fact, I always felt like I couldn''t believe it was still SO LONG until my wedding. And on my wedding day I think I was the calmest I''ve ever been. I was unbelievably excited, but so calm and relaxed that day.

take a deep breath. 1 year is a LONG way to go...it will go by fast, but lemme just say, save the freaking out. lots of people have an engagement way less than a year, so you have MORE than enough time to do everything you could possibly imagine. plus you can save more, start projects now so that it doesnt seem like you are spending a ton of money all at once.

I totally agree with charbie - I think its normal to "freak out" on the one-year mark, because it does officially mark the countdown - but, every month after that will DRAG (at least it has for me!) So, save the freak out for when it gets closer! You have loads of time right now to make any decision you want - at the end, from what I hear, it gets hectic for REAL and then you can really freak out!
