So, my friend's wedding is coming up fast. I was originally going to take a papersource class and make the guestbook for her there. However, due to my mom's health I had to miss the class.

SO, I have three options at this point. Order one of the two guestbooks below, or attempt to make it myself.

FYI, her wedding is very nontraditional (in her uncle's backyard, wearing a short dress, no bridesmaids, no wedding "colors," no walking down the aisle, she is baking her own cupcakes, etc.) if that helps in your decision.

Thanks!

My potential outcome?

Did you look at the guestbooks on Etsy?

And what''s the cost of making it yourself vs the two you posted?

I voted make it yourself! But it all depends on actually how much time you have...

I like #2 a lot, but I feel you could easily make that yourself. Couldn''t you just buy a blank book and glue the ribbon and flowers (although I probably wouldn''t want to flower because they''d come off over time). Then you could make the name card on the computer, or use stamps from the craft store?

Then again, I am into that type of stuff... I''m a total scrapbooker. So really its all about time...

Cost of making it myself is probably comparable, plus time. (Possibly more, since the papersource is the nearest crafty store)

If I make it myself, the main risk is that it comes out ugly and I don''t have time to make another one. But, it would be more heartfelt if it were made by me. I just can''t do anything too complicated.

Actually, most of my craft stuff is in LA, so I should probably rule out making it myself...

Where are the other two guestbooks from?

And yes don''t make it yourself. I was just at papersource yesterday to buy grommets. I walked out of there with 50 bucks worht of embossing items. It''s dangerous!

They are both from etsy, two different sellers...

I REALLY love the guestbook I got on Etsy, it arrived last week. Totally worth it. The woman is making me a matching scrapbook now too.

I''m having a hard time saying which one I like honestly beacause neither one are my taste per se, and without any wedding colors it makes it tough.

The first one looks more formal, the second one looks more tropically...

I''m not much help!

I decided to order the blue one...it is more the style of her wedding (I know she likes blue, and her dress is satin, and that's all I really have to go on)

I also asked them to send the flower separately. I will decide when I see it in person if I want to attach it. I may just attach it to the sign in pen, so it will be a "flower pen" =)

Thanks everyone for your votes!

PS I think the first one is actually more the style of MY wedding...something to think about....

PS2 Violet, I really liked your etsy seller too, but I think hers were just too pricy for my project. BUT, I may end up getting one of her photo books for my own wedding

That''s cool you could get it with the flower detached. I think I like the non-flower look much better!
