...how many of you are going to Limerick today?!?
For those not in the know, it is illegal to sell alcohol in Ireland on Good Friday. However there is a big rugby match on in Limerick between Munster and Leinster (the east province and the west province of Ireland), so the crowds will be huge. Some smart arses made a case for health and safety - they said having that many people on the streets drinking home-brought alcohol and arguing over who was the better team would be dangerous, therefore the pubs should be allowed to open, just this once, to house and control the masses. Therefore, Limerick is the only city in Ireland today where pubs are open and alcohol is being sold.
From what the traffic reports are telling me, the whole country is descending on Limerick today! Madness!!
