Hiii everyone!

I''m getting to that point in the planning where I am just trying to keep it together! Is anyone else here? haha

Anyways, I went for trial #2. I didn''t mind what trial #1 looked like, except that I found that I felt (don''t kill me for being like this...)...well....I felt ROUND. I don''t feel like my face is a chubby face most of the time, but I felt like the style made me look like I had a very round, soft, chubby face.

So I figured I needed another trial.

And...I felt the same. So obviously it is my issue - but I''m not sure if there is a better style that will help me out. Maybe having a sleeker, smaller updo would help? Ugh.

Anyways, I''ll post pics of my first trial, my dress, and the most current one. Let me know what you think.

K Here is Trial #1:

Okay, honey, I mean this in the nicest possible way, but there is NO WAY your face looks round or chubby! It''s in your head, girl! You look fabulous, your hair looks fabulous, and your dress looks fabulous! I can''t tell which trial I like better because they are both beautiful! They are really different styles: the first is more sleek and modern, the second is more romantic. I will say though, I''m not loving the sideswept bangs in the second trial by the end of the night, but that could be an easy fix.

K that''s it. I am wearing a drop cathedral length veil for the ceremony. I might put flowers in.

My FI always pictures me with my hair down but I don''t know if I could do it where it wouldn''t wreck the dress lines, or fall flat/get frizzy by the end of the night. He doesn''t think of that stuff probably.

Okay so thanks in advance for any opinions or suggestions.

Thanks Sabine - I know it sounds nuts, and it could be because I keep looking at myself up close or close in pictures, but you know what I mean when something feels bad like that?! I just want to feel great on my wedding day - but I really appreaciate you being so supportive like that! :-)

I think that you look lovely, and I don''t think that your face looks round. However, just because I went through the same thing myself, here is my .02. I have a VERY round face, even my hairstylist said so, and on top of my round face I have round cheeks and big round dimples. I thought that my first hairstyle made my face look, well, round. When she did it for the second time, she slightly offset the low bun so that it sat lower and to the side, and it really broke up the roundness of my face.

That said - I still think you look stunning.

Thanks Maggie - that is a great suggestion! I hadn''t thought of that. Funny, one of the styles that I think looks best on me day-to-day is a side pony tail (not the 80''s -Tiffany-I think we''re alone now-style-side pony, but the soft, modern type ;-). Maybe that would work.

Hmm...thanks!

Okay, as a stylist...let me point out a few things...

1. Your first and second trials were different. The first updo, in the back, was tighter, wider and the curls were looped. The second trial was more elongated, and the curls were more "free and natural"...not nearly as looped and structured. I prefer style 2.

2. Make sure, whatever you do, that you have your stylist work on your baby-hairs. There were a lot of loose strands that will not photograph well, and will get out of hand quickly.

3. Feeling round? Your bangs cut your forehead, giving you a smaller overall face, but thats the look of side swept bangs. I would suggest, and it''s just my opinion, that you acutally go with more "lift" in the back, which will stretch you out some.

Thanks Italia - when you say ''lift'' do you mean height? I worry because I do have an abnormally large head (FI and I can''t share hats by a long shot!)

Good call on the baby hairs - I noticed them in the pics too.

And for the bangs - do you think they ''help'' or do you think I look better with them back but still soft?

Thanks!

i been where you are. i always hated my hair up. hated. my face is round and hair up always accentuated that and made me look bigger than i am. i was very worried about this on my wedding day, but there''s no way i could wear my hair down. it''s straight. straight. straight. no chance of decent curl staying the whole day.

anyway, i wore my hair like your first trial. and man was i happy with the results in pics. the swoop gave my face definition. much much less round. so, that''s what i''d recommend. trial #1 with the swoop front and low curls in the back. make sure you have some height at the top with teasing, too. at least that''s what also helps out my round face problem.

and for the record - your face does NOT look round and chubby!

You are gorgeous!! I love the second trial pics. LOVE them!

Your dress is stunning as well :)

I much prefer the first hair trial do. I agree that some additional lift (height on the crown) would be good. The second do just looked too busy in the back to me.

BTW, you don''t have a round face. I have a round face, and yours isn''t

I like number 2 better! It''s more soft and romantic.

And honey, your face is not round!!

Bangs are a personal preference.

First of all, if you leave them lightly tucked or pinned...chances are, after the ceremony, pictures, dinner, and light dancing...they will be a hot mess and you''ll either keep tucking them behind your ear, or get annoyed and just start running your fingers back thru them (I''m cringing). Remember, never in your life will you be photographed more or studied more than at your wedding, so your hair needs to be something you can wear all day/night and not mess with.

Now, as far as a different look...you DO NOT have a round face...you''re actually very oval. If you were to perhaps have your stylist curl them and pull them back lightly into the design with the actual curl pattern noticable, you''ll slove both problems. First you''re naturally beautiful bone structure and face will be proudly on display and your bangs wont bug you all night!!

Gorgeous hair by the way. I agree with Italia all the way. I prefer 2, but I woul like to see them give you more lift. It was the one thing I keep telling my hair stylist who told me I was going to look like Peg Bundy
20.gif
I told her not to diss Peg Bundy, as I used to do my hair like hers.

Just have her backcomb it or however she chooses to get some volume at the back crown of the head. That will also make you feel like your face isn''t as round. At least it does for me.

You are almost there. This home stretch will go quickly. Good Luck and early congrats.

Ditto, to all of it.

I had my bangs down and loose all day - and by the end of the night they were indeed a hot mess, LOL! I gave up and shoved them aside at some point as well. Needless to say, there are no framed photos from the end of the night, LOL!

LMAO...OMG too funny.

I love them both, especially the back of the first and the front of the second.

Just because I find it funny, here''s what happens to bangs and makeup over the course of a hot wedding day.

The top pic is fairly early in the day. The bottom... well, it got worse from there, LOL!!!

I really like the back of the second hairstyle, btw.

October you are so cute! I like number one more personally..I don''t think you looked round at all. Haha, it seems I am disagreeing with everyone again..I just think number one is more simple and elegant.

Thank you all for your input so far! Sorry for disappearing - I had to go pick up my wedding bands!

But I''m back now and will reply :-)

I like the first one better, or the Second one if you do the bangs....The bangs really make the hairstyle in my opinion.

You still look beautiful in the second picture! But I do take your point to heart - I can see what you are saying.

Thanks for the visual ;-)

I love the way your hair looks! Especially in the photo titled "#2 later in the night." Love the way your bangs frame your gorgeous face in that photo. Beautiful!!!

I actually loved the bang back too.
