NYC Salon?

Does anyone know of a great Salon/Stylist in Manhattan? Specifically someone who does great highlights? I''m familiar with all of the famous super high-end salons, but I''m not looking to pay their crazy prices get my hair cut and colored. I''m not looking for somewhere cheap either, just more mid-range (or at least mid-range for NYC). Thanks!!!

this is the lady I found and am very happy with. She only charges like $65 for a great haircut. Her price for coloring was reasonable too

Thanks atroop711! I'm kinda fed up with reading yelp/citysearch reviews...it's so obvious that a lot of the reviews are completely made up. For instance, I was just reading reviews for a particular salon, and there were LOTS of people talking about how "Peter" does the most amazing blonde highlights. I was psyched until I noticed that none of the reviewers had reviewed anything before or since, and all of the reviews about him said basically the same thing. I think I know what "Peter" does in his spare time. And it doesn't mean he's not great, it's just a little shady and I was obviously looking for REAL opinions (although, to be fair, I'd probably do the same thing if I was trying to build my business, just in a less obvious way

) Anyway, my roundabout point is that I'm glad to get recommendations from actual people!!!

Salon Santa Cruz. It''s on 5th and 27th or 28th i think.

Leslie, who happens to be an old friend of mine is amazing with color. Seriously good. I don''t know how much they charge (i''m lucky enough to have her do my hair for free) but I''m pretty sure it''s mid range.
