My husband and I just got married three weeks ago in our hometown north of Boston. We didn''t bother to hire a professional photographer, as we wanted to cut costs where we could. We were honeymooning in Europe and doing quite a bit of country hopping, which is budget draining to begin with, and we really wanted to have enough money to enjoy ourselves fully.

Seeing as most photographers quoted us between $1500-$2400, we decided to forgo it in favor of family and friends snapping away. One of my cousins is quite talented despite being an amateur, and the pictures she took are stunning. As soon as I receive the discs, I''ll load them to this thread.

So this is a series of pictures we have gathered...Hope you guys enjoy :)

Our wedding was held in a state park right on a river. It was so green that day, even though it was incredibly overcast all day (it poured five minutes after our ceremony!). You can''t tell from this picture, but I had six bridesmaids and my husband had six groomsmen.

Yikes-darn resizing never seems to work for me

My husband and I right after we got married. Please ignore the disturbing height difference.

What a pretty outdoor setting! You two look great together. Love the hair and dress, by the way.

The train on my dress was so pretty and quite long, but I was so fearful of it raining and getting muddy while it was down that I kept it up all throughout the ceremony

Resizing these really loses the quality, I think. Please ignore the cr*p quality, I guess.

One of my bridesmaids and I had the exact same pair of shoes! We live across the country from each other, and I allowed each girl to choose her own attire and accessories. When we found out we had bought the same pair of shoes, we couldn''t stop laughing at how similar we are. I suppose that''s why we''ve been friends for 15 years, and why she was one of my bridesmaids :).

This is one of my favorite pictures. It utterly hides how awkward my husband can be when he''s the center of attention :P

i love the pictures! I too am thinking about hiring a friend rather than drop 2k (since, thats about the size of my budget to begin with!).
And, i LOVE your height difference! my man is 6''1 and i am 5''5 (on a tall day). His parents? 6''10 (dad) and 5''3 (mom)

Two or three (ok, maybe closer to six or seven) drinks in, and the Boston pride comes out in everybody.

Obviously, I started drinking early.
Gotta calm those nerves

That''s all for now, mostly because resizing these is too time consuming, and the quality is lessened too much.

I love the one of you two walking between the trees and you looking over your shoulder.

don''t worry about the height difference. my FI and I won''t be able to take too many photos of us next to each other as we''ve got 1.5 feet difference.

enjoy your honeymoon!

Beautiful! Just goes to show you don't have to spend a fortune on photography. Was your wedding at Maudslay SP? My brother almost had his wedding there.

ETA: Go Sox!

Yeah-we were married in the vegetable garden at Maudslay. That''s so neat that your brother almost got married there! I''m assuming you''re a local, then?

Gorgeous! I love your dress.

Nice pictures, DB! Thanks for sharing with us. Hopefully you''ll be more of a regular from now on!

And congratulations!

Y''all are so cute!!

Girl, a photographer should have to pay you to take your photograph!! I wish you and your VERY TALL husband a very happy future!

Your photos are beautiful! You look stunning, and you and your husband look great together, even with the height difference. It''s so nice to see some "non-pro" pics that came out so beautiful. We''re having my dad, who is a sort of amateur but very talented photographer do ours, and even though we know they will be lovely, it''s nice to see others who have done the same with such success!

Congratulations on getting married!

We grew up in Georgetown, and he works in N-port, but ended up getting married in Concord due to lack of access at MSP for some of our elderly relatives. I love it there, though. So tranquil and green!

Really lovely! You look so happy, fantastic!

Ok-I finally have some more, slightly more professional looking photos! These are from the series my photographer cousin did-she''s not a professional, but her work is beautiful, and I was so lucky to have someone who cared what I wanted taking my pictures.

So here we are :) Thanks for looking :)

Your cousin did such a good job! Do you have a thread with more pictures of your ring?
*scrambles off to search*

Your hair looks beautiful and you look so happy!

You look stunning. I love the pics your cousin took; they are so professional looking. I would''ve thought they were pro pics if you didn''t mention it.
