I shan't include any spoilers in case anyone is interested in watching this film.

As some of you may know already, I have a custom converted campervan to my own design and specifications, and had been asked if I could live in the van with my dog full time.

The simple answer is yes, my van is kitted out so that I can live in it full time as long as I can have access to fresh water and electricity.

However, being a nomad is not lifestyle that I would like to pursue, as I like to have a base that I can call home.

Home is not just a house - it also provides me with an active social life, allows me to be part of a community, and it has a cat.

The van was financed by a large chunk of my pensions/retirement funds, and I had started to plan for this 6 years ago. I call it my semi-retirement project.

I want to continue to enjoy camping as much as I can, when I am still physically, mentally and financially able to do so.

Hence the film Nomadland struck a chord in my heart when I saw it, in that life really is too short to ponder, and I have made the right decision for myself.

That aside, it is a great film.

Such a fabulous film! And it definitely provides a different & indepth understanding of the opposite to the "buy a house, settle down, put down roots" mentality.

It's not a lifestyle I could adopt, but I can really see the appeal of just wandering & experiencing & just being without constraints.
