It's called Dynamat and it's typically used in cars for noise control for audio systems. They guys who installed my granite counter tops told me about this when I was asking them what I could do to deaden the drumming of running water in the kitchen sinks. I got it at Best Buy. It comes in a one foot square sheet. Just cut it into strips, peel off the backing, and stick it on the underside of your sink. No more irritating noise.

Good idea, but I'd be concerned about bacteria breeding under it.
Does the manufacturer address this?

It doesn't go inside the sink. It goes on the underside where the plumbing attaches and that is already coated by the manufacturer with a thin soundproof layer that is sprayed on. It doesn't get wet so I don't think there's an issue with bacteria.

Oh, Cool.
Thanks! :wavey:

Super tip! :appl:

Great idea!

My sink makes no noise. I probably have too much stuff uner the sink so that is deadens any sounds. But good to know so I can pass it to others if they ever complain.
