I've been looking for something like this! One of the reviews said the glass is very thin though. Do you think this has to be handled very delicately? (I ask because things tend to get handled... um... with NOT a lot of delicacy in my kitchen! Unfortunately my klutziness manifests itself in a little banging around... )

this is what i've been using for a couple of years now:

http://www.winesoiree.com/

we have granite counters and tile floor.....and i'm a klutz. yet this device has survived.

i didn't personally handle the new toy to be.....but it looked substantial enough to me. and it was a guy doing the decanting over a table placed on concrete.....

i like things with some heft to remind me that i have something in my hands. the plan is to decant into the new toy and then reverse it back into the bottle. rinse new toy immediate, place upside down to fully drain in rack.

i think we'll be fine!

Love the presentation! We bought this for 2 friends over the holidays. Good thing you plan on rinsing the new toy immediately, sediment from older wine can be difficult to remove.

MZ - I have the the item you've shown from winesoiree and we use it regularly with no damage... and quite like it.

This is what we use all the time now instead tho. http://www.amazon.com/Nuance-Wine-Finer-Carrying-Case/dp/B004FVYPTC/ref=sr_1_19?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1334514270&sr=1-19
We belong to a couple of wine clubs and twice we've received this gadget, which we actually prefer over the glass bulb aerator.

This goes in the dishwasher, comes out perfect every time but advice is to pour out about an 1" or 2 of wine first.... trust me... it will spill and get wasted if you don't (NOT that that's happened or I have any experience with that... nope...!)

HI:

Great MZ--jewellery/accessories for wine!

cheers--Sharon
