So here's the latest addition to the family. Her name is Mya and she is a female British Shorthair. Love these cats because they have the most loving, gentle personality.....and they are lovely and chunky too, with fur that is dense and soft! She's not ready to leave her mum until the end of February, but we are all so excited!!!

She's going to be company for our other BSH Merlin. Ain't he a cutie?

The breeder has recommended we let her have one litter of kittens before she is spayed. Apparently, it is supposed to be better for the cat. Got a few problems with that...
1. We have absolutely no breeding experience.
2. Would probably end up keeping all the kittens, because we would get attached. And If we did tried to sell them, it would be a nightmare, because I would be so picky about who they went to.
So does anyone know if there are any benefits of letting your cat have at least one litter? or is this just a myth? And regarding neutering, when is it best to do this? (Merlin already neutered).
Anyone????????
