New contraceptive ring in development

For those of you who love Nuva Ring, they''ve just finished a clinical trial of a ring that will last 13 cycles smile Knowing the FDA, it''ll take forever to hit the market assuming all else goes well, but still, that''d be exciting!
It would probably cheaper in the long run too. (Although the most cost effective, and effective-effective method is probably still the copper IUD).

Anyways, just thought I''d share because I like the ring. And I am so very very grateful to be a woman in an era where you can time or eliminate your monthly "gifts".

OK, this may be wayyyyyy too much info, but I can''t resist. I was IN that clinical trial when it was at my med school! So were like ALL of the OB/Gyn residents. I LOVED the ring. Unfortunately after about the 6th cycle it caused breakthrough bleeding...just like the Nuvaring and every pill I''ve been on. I got the Mirena IUD after the trial ended, and it''s been freakin'' fabulous.
