Need ideas on settings for 2 carat RB

So I got my grubby hands on a 2.07 carat RB

It''s my present to myself for surviving the divorce with dignity. Now I''m looking for ideas on how to set it! I don''t want the ring to look too much like an engagement ring but I also don''t like that modern look or the 3-stone look. I''m leaning towards a micropave halo but not sure if it will make it too gaudy. Is it too much to put a 2+ carat RB in a halo setting?
Any thoughts? I need some PS wisdom!!!

Is this different from what you are going to Leon for?? I love a thin halo for a RHR, I did that with my asscher... Good for you, for treating yourself. I am all for that!!!

Kaleigh, no, it''s the same stone. I have my heart set on that pink halo setting but after reading alot of "2+ carats RB should not be set in a halo" posts I''m trying to see if there are any other settings that I like. Even Leon mentioned on the phone that he doesn''t think 2+ RBs should be set in halo

But I love love LOVE that pink halo!!!

is your heart set on a halo? if so, then I'd do it still regardless what others think- you are the one that will be wearing it. In any case, so no three stone, maybe not a halo. and not contemporary modern design correct? how bout something with a graduated diamonds or colored stones on the sides like five stone trellis look? or would you like some sort of filigree look to a wide band setting your RB in it?

Chiapet: congrats on your acquisition of the 2ct RB! Excellent way to treat yourself!

I can''t remember who posted it, but in SMTR today there was a thread on a gorgeous art deco ring with a pretty large center, sapphire sidestones, etc. It had a really great profile and I thought that not only did it make a great e-ring, but could make a fab RHR as well! I''ll see if I can find it.

Chiapet: my only opinion on whether 2+carat stones should be set into halos is that they don''t NEED halos, but they can certainly still be done tastefully and look GREAT in halos!

It''s YOUR stone, set it like Kaleigh said, in whatever makes your heart sing!!!

It''s official: I''m in love with the pink diamond halo. Now I just have to scrape up some $$$ to pay for it. Leon suggested putting it in white diamonds but even he admitted that he prefers the pink diamond halo for my ring. Siiiiiighhhhh.....

I think if the halo is delicate then it can look amazing on a 2+ carat RB! My stepmom has a large, wide halo on her 2.2 RB and it looks kind of chunky and too big for my taste, but I think a delicate halo would look amazing!

I totally dig a Leon delicate pink halo around a 2ct RB!!
