Have any of you destination brides made welcome baskets for your guests? I didn''t think it would be that hard. We are getting married in South Carolina and there is all kind of regional food to sample and plus we''d thought we''d put in some pampering stuff from the resort, like lotion or a candle. But I can''t find anything on the web to tell me how to set it up and I''m just not naturally good at this stuff. Where do you even buy the baskets???? Plus, where do you get the shredded stuff that you put in them? Stupid questions, I know. Can you tell I''m not crafty?

We did ours in gift bags tied with cute ribbon. But for our bathroom baskets I found cheap wicker baskets at walmart, but I''m guessing they might be even cheaper at a craft store. And I''m guessing that where ever you find the baskets, that shredded stuff would be nearby.

If you have a Michaels craft store near you, I suggest you go there. That''s where I go for all of my crafting needs. They should have a large assortment of baskets, and they have the little shredded paper stuff for inside them as well as cellophane and ribbon if you wanted to tie them up. They have all kinds of awesomeness as Michaels!

Not much to add, except that I really hope you're putting pralines in the baskets! Mmmmmmm....pralines.

Really? I do have a Michael''s pretty close by. I''ll check it out. Oh, and yes I actually am putting pralines in the gift baskets!

Here is what we are planning so far: pralines, sweet tea vodka (it''s a regional specialty!), coffee, lowcountry boil spices, Aunt Maggie''s cornbread mix (because my name is Maggie), some local honey, and some fancy lotion from the resort.

Any feedback and/or suggestions would be greatly welcomed

You could probably find boxes like the ones on the knot at any of the places that sell wedding favor containers...and they can range from cheap (oriental trading co.) to expensive. If you google wedding favor boxes, you''ll get tons of links, but if you need more specific suggestions, let me know.

What in you have in your baskets sounds fantastic! However, I would suggest throwing in a bottle of water and a small, immediately edible snack. Traveling can take a lot out of you!

Thanks. I am having a tough time finding something big enough. The wedding favor boxes are so small. What would you think about these if you were a guest? I could get a small tote bag for about $15 and it''s nice enough to keep. http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?page=boat-and-tote-bag&categoryId=33381&storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&parentCategory=504173&cat4=504161&shop_method=pp&feat=504173-tn&np=Y

Do you think that something like this would be okay to use?

By the way, I''m only doing about 8 of these things! Very small wedding . . .
