Need help with Christmas vacation~~!! No idea where to go...

I'm located in Canada, so States could be an option, as well as Mexico and Cuba I suppose? A little worried about safety there cauz I am just an unsecure little woman...

The most important thing is to find cheap flights and hotels..Well, I know they are all super high around Christmas time, so normal price is good enough.

I have about 10 days vacation. Your suggestion? Not alone, coming with mother.
Do you think it is possible to go to Asia? Like Thailand Or Cambodia?

I'm in Ontario and I've gone to Cuba several times --- I'd highly recommend Sol Luna Y Mares in Holguin. Sure, everything in Cuba is not to the same 5 star standards we have here, but the staff and people there are incredible! I've done a few trips with my complete family and a trip with just my sister --- we had a BLAST when it was the 2 of us!!! I never EVER felt uncomfortable on this resort.

That's where I'd go... !

I would do Hawaii. If you fly in/out on odd days you can find some decent deals out of SF or LA. Between $800 - $1K is what I found (round trip) for Christmas. Or check out Cabo. If you want to stay at an amazing place in Cabo (it's actually in Los Cabos), check out The One & Only Palmilla. DH and I have been there twice and it is amazing!

Let me know if you want any recommendations in Hawaii.

Another idea, if you like wine is going to Wine Country (Sonoma/Napa, California).

I'd do Hawaii or Mexico... although I think you'd be in hurricane season for Mexico. I like the Caribbean side, but if you go to a resort in or near an established town, like Cabo, you might be able to catch some of the local Christmas festivities!

I checked out the Ritz Carleton over Christmas/New Years last year in Cancun ....for three people, 20K. No thanks.

My sister who has a house in Maui, booked her flights for Christmas in Aug. So did my other friend for her family. You may not get what you want in terms of dates, as things may already be booked. If you get flights, getting a hotel might not be easy--and certainly not cheap.

Oh a good friend just got back from Bulgaria--and spent 3K for 18 days--great hotel, meals and flights inlcuded! There is a "cheap" holiday for you! She absolutely adored it!!!

Sounds very attractive to me! Other than the resort, elsewhere to go in Cuba? Would want to check out more than one place though.

Thanks for the great advice, but I am not a fan of Hawaii though, actually sunshine and beach in general cauz I live in a similar city...lol
