Hey ya''ll I hate to bother you with something that is not at all related to anything....but I am writing a paper and I am nearly done. However I am requried to have a qoute that relates to my topic about handedness to start my paper. Does anyone know of any qoutes about handedness? I would really really appreciate any help. Thanks.

everyone is born right handed, only the gifted overcome it.

Left-handed people are the only ones in their right mind ... something like that ... my dad says that all the time ... we''re both left handed! klr

I don''t have a quote but a funny story. My daughter is left handed and I thought it was because when she was in the high chair, I always handed food to her left hand. Fast forward to my son being in the high chair, this time I made sure to hand food to his right hand. Guess what, he''s left handed too!!! Both hubby and I are right handed. Go figure!!!!

And becauase I still am fighting through the intro section of my reserch proposal I am refreashing this like every 30 seconds. I can tell you however the handedness is reaalted to chemicals in the brain. If anyone is intreasted I will post what I have learned when I am done with my paper. I am suffering from writers block and I ma worried that I will lose electricty from the hurricane! Did I mention my fear of thunderstorms...why yes I am loving this weather! Kill me now.

It goes like this, "If the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handed people are in their right minds."

Committed THAT one to memory...esp. after years of getting stuck with the gross lefty scissors in grade school that were always covered with paste and were never sharp...HATED that. But otherwise, being lefty rocks.

Interesting! (and funny quotes and stories btw)
What do they say about freaks like me. The ONLY thing I do is write with my left. Everything else is right! I even wear a watchin on my left which is totally odd and uncomfie but I can't put it on the right....

MMM,
My son writes with his left, but plays sports with his right. Is that what you call (and I so know I will spell this wrong), ambidextrous???

Steve, that is what my research proposal is about, weather or not large corporations owuld be benfitted by haveing left handed tools (ie a mouse and what not) for those who are left handed. My mother has the worst time trying to use a mouse and she is always grousing about that. So I decided that would be something worth looking at @ 10% of people at Lefites.

I find your project most interesting, Matatora.

My Dad was born left handed. In the 1930s, he was forced to write right-handed in school. He does everything else left handed, i.e. eating, golf, etc. In college, he became a draftsman, so he draws with his left and writes with his right.

My daughter started out ambidextrous. In preschool and kindergarten, she used both hands equally and we could not figure out which was dominant. Although being a lefty is pretty cool, we dediced to force the usage of her right hand since the world definitely caters to the right-handed. Even now, at 10 years old, she occasionally will use a fork left-handed.

the only quote I know about being left-handed is something to the effect of ''hire the left-handed. It''s fun to watch them write''

I write with my left hand, but do a lot of other things with my right... I generally use my mouse with my right hand, use right-handed scissors with my left, and sit at right-handed desks (that one looks strange since I have to turn my body to do it...).

And my fork... my dear fork is always in my left hand ;)

I don''t know of any quotes but I would be very interested in your research paper as my son is left handed.

He he I doubt my father would let her, the computer she uses is in the library and my father and the two oldest girls use the same one. Though I wonder if we could set up a second mouse for her, I know she would be tickled that it was thought of. Perhaps I will use your information in my proposal. Thank!

I really do appreciate all the help ya''ll have been offering. It means alot that ya''ll care.

<---- another "southpaw" here....I''d love to read your paper as well! I can do a bit with my right but I''m definitely left dominant.

If it weren''t for all of the confusion in the US I''d wear my rings on the right hand instead. When I''m in Europe I always switch over. It''s much more comfortable!

MMMore, I have the same weirdness with watches. I''ve just given up on them for now.

Perhaps you have answered this riddle in your paper, but there is about a 30% incidence in left handedness in twins, much higher than between siblings who weren''t born from the same pregnancy. The incidence is the same whether the twins are identical or not. I have a set of boy/girl twins and my daughter is left handed. Both her twin brother and her older brother are right handed.

Hey ya''ll, sorry for the confusion I was not writing a paper about people who are left handed. I was writing a research proposal on tool maninpulation and handedness. The reason that handness is higer between twins is currently belived to be becuase handedness is due to DA differences between left and right hand dominant people. I tured in my proposal this mmorning. I hope I do well on it!

What do you mean by DA differences?

The lastest research indicates that handedness is not related to hemispehere domineces but to diffrences in the DA chemichal sysstems in the brain.

Sorry to be a doofus but I still don''t know what DA is.

I think the "handedness" of the mouse could be tied to a profile on the computer, but each user would have to log in/identify themselves so the right (oops, I mean correct) profile was used.

I''m celebrating because I''ve never met anyone like that before.....

You both have some company. My DH is the same way. He only writes left handed. Golfs, bats, eats with his right hand.
