I am not sure if card is appropriate or just a gift for Baby Shower? If so what to write on a card? Thanks a lot.

I think generally a gift is best, unless you are really tight for budget and/or don''t know the person the shower is for very well at all. A lot of couples are actually registering for baby stuff these days - maybe ask the organizer(s) if they know of a registry?

Thanks AmberGretchen :
yes I already have a gift ,but not sure if card is necessary ? or not if so what to write on a card?
Thanks

Card - yes, I would. Abide by the KISS method if you''re not comfortable writing something personal.

Congratulations!

Your name

Include a card so they will know who it''s from and have a reminder later after your present is put with the others.

If you know them well, you can write about how you know they will be good parents (if you think that!), you can''t wait to see the little one, you look forward to watching him/her grow up, you are so happy to welcome the new addition to your family/group of friends, etc.. You can always include a funny story about the mom or dad and how you think the baby will have the same characteristics.

If you don''t know the mom very well then you can say something brief about how you are so happy for them and their upcoming birth. You can also say something about the gift, such as "I hope he/she has tons of fun in the bouncy seat" or "I saw this outfit and thought you would like it!"

Of course I have seen many cards where people just sign them! They let the card do all the talking. I usually like to make it a little more personal, but that can sometimes be hard if you and the mom are not very close!

Good luck!

I give a card that just says; Congratulations on your new bundle of joy!!! kindly, Scarleta.
If you are good friends I would write something more. Have fun at the baby shower

Thanks Elmorton, Sparklyheart and Skippy: you all gave me lots of great ideas.
Skippy unfortunately I won''t be able to attend Baby Shower but I still want to give a gift.I already purchased a gift certificate I know they can use to buy what they need.
Just not sure about the card? Since the baby is not yet born should I get a blank card?
sparklyheart: thanks you gave me lots of great ideas on what message to write.I have lots of choices now...

well there are baby shower cards that you can buy that don't say if it is a boy or girl and that should work; just stick the gift certificate in the card

Target or Hallmark should sell baby shower cards.

Thanks Skippy: I shall do just that and I have lots of ideas from previous posts on what message to write.
You guys are so great always there when I need you.
Thanks to all of you who chipped in.

2nd to Skippy''s suggestion. There are lots of cute little blank cards that you can write a congratulatory sentence or two in. FWIW, even if I know a person really well, I normally do not write very much in the card.
