I need a man's opinion about the preferred width of a wristcuff.

I'm buying a 14KW gold wristcuff for my man for V-day, getting it engraved and everything, but I'm not sure which width is more "manly".

They have 4 widths available for me:

8mm, 8mm oversized, 10mm, or 10mm oversized

He lost his favorite wristcuff a couple months ago (the point of me surprising him with a new one), so I have nothing to base the new one on.

I'm afraid I'll choose the one that is either too feminine by being too thin, or the opposite and be too chunky...

So, opinions please! What size is the most masculine to you?

Thanks!

Ps. if it helps any.... the one he lost was more this style (this is about 7mm):

and the one I'm looking to get is more this style (this is 10mm):

I'm not a guy, but I have to say I LOVE the wristcuff you are considering! I just wish my man wore jewelry. The most he wears is his watch. It's going to suck to make sure he wears his wedding ring all the time after we get married!

personally, i cant even manage to keep my watch on! but if i had to pick it would be in the 10mm range. then again it all depends on attire and and how big he is..

i like the style you are looking at now more than the other.. if it were me, the fine details on the other would be covered with dirt / paint scrapings / and whatever other filth i pickup during the day.

think you are going in the right direction tho

Well, his old wristcuff wasn''t that exact pattern (it was from a Thai temple and had that detail as a background but a buddhist design engraved on top), but that is EXACTLY what happened to it! He works construction and he''d have to clean and polish it every week to get the dirt and paint out of the design!

I figured this other style will be much easier upkeep.

First of all, he is a lucky guy. I love this as a gift. My personal preference would be the 10mm, as in the bottom photo. It's very bold, but looks comfortable. However, if he was used to wearing 7mm perhaps he would be more comfortable with the 8mm option.

It depends on how accustomed he becomes to things: If he's someone who keeps his shoes for a long, long time (past when he should throw them away) just because he is accustomed to them I suggest the 8mm. If he doesn't mind something new my own preference would be the 10mm.

Okay....I ended up going with the 10mm since a lot of you liked it. I think he''d be okay with a wider cuff too since, per John''s great advice, he isn''t a person who hates to try new things. In fact, he LOVES to be the best-dressed-pretty-boy-center-of-attention

LOL!

I''ll let you know if he likes it or not come V-day...
