Hi,

I have been looking and looking and looking. You can''t imagine how long =P For the perfect song for our first dance. It will be sung by my grandpa!!!! So it must be one of the oldies- like elvis presley, sinatra, englebert humperdink... etc..

I would love the song to be medium speed- not too slow, and the lyrics talk about how we are meant for each other!! =)

Anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I''ve exhausted the internet looking ^_^;;

Can''t Help Falling In Love - Elvis Presley
Unchained Melody - The Righteous Brothers
Love You Madly - Duke Ellington

I''ll think some more, but those are good ones to start with.

We danced to Frankie Valli and the Four Season''s "You''re Just Too Good To Be True" and had my best friend''s dad sing it for us. It was wonderful!

Besides the fact that its our song, it gave us time to dance slowly and then have fun with it too. We love dancing, so it really gave us a chance to show some moves. Everyone sang the "I LOVE YOU BABY" part out loud with us and we had a blast dancing to it. Basically, it was perfect for us. :)

Wonderful, Wonderful
------Johnny Mathis

Sometimes we walk hand in hand by the sea
And we breathe in the cool salty air,
You turn to me with a kiss in your eyes
And my heart feels a thrill beyond compare
Then your lips cling to mine, it's wonderful, wonderful
Oh, so wonderful my love.

Sometimes we stand on the top of a hill
And we gaze at the earth and the sky
I turn to you and you melt in my arms
There we are, darling, only you and I
What a moment to share, it's wonderful, wonderful
Oh, so wonderful my love

Bridge:
This world is full of wondrous things it's true
But they wouldn't have much meaning without you

Some quiet evenings I sit by your side
And we're lost in a world of our own
I feel the glow of your unspoken love
I'm aware of the treasures that I own
And I say to myself, it's wonderful, wonderful
Oh, so wonderful my love!

This might be too slow but our song is gonna be "At last" sung by Etta James. I find it to be the perfect tempo and song length! Good luck finding the right song for you!

My fiance and I are using "Only You" by The Platters :)

This is going to be my mother/daughter dance (my dad hasn''t been in the picture in a long time) because it''s one of my mom''s favorites, as well as mine. I went to "Jersey Boys" back in October and just started bawling while it was being performed b/c I was thinking about using it. (end threadjack...sorry!)

What about "The Way You Look Tonight" by Sinatra?
Or "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong?

DH and I danced to "That''s How Strong My Love Is" by Otis Redding. Try going to Pandora.com and typing in something that sounds similar to what you''re looking for--maybe it''ll pop up something brilliant. Good luck!

Sinatra did a lovely version of "As Time Goes By", which has such classic romantic lyrics. It is one of those songs that can be slow, or picked up a bit. That''s the song made famous by the movie Casablanca... remember? You must remember this: a kiss is still a kiss. A sigh is just a sigh. The fundamental things of life, as time goes by.

He also did a beautiful almost upbeat song called "Time After Time" (no, not Cyndi Lauper''s version) that goes: Time after time, I tell myself that I''m so lucky to be loving you. So lucky to be the one you run to see in the evening when the day is through. I only know what I know, the passing years will show. You''ve kept my heart so young, so true. And time after time you''ll hear me say that I''m so lucky to be loving you.
