Mum and Dad were taking our dog for a walk last week and came across an injured dog. He followed them a little and mum didn''t have the heart to leave him - he was out on a country road and clearly homeless or lost. They took him home and cleaned him up. We put up pictures at the local shop etc, and on the internet, but nobody has claimed him, and there''s no lost advertisments anywhere.
He is a great little puppy, we guess about 6 months or less, but very well behaved and easy to train. Loads of energy. Has a habit of chewing through electrical wires, but he is learning.
We have had a little jack russel terrier for the past 9 years - typical territorial, fussy little terrier - who was initially very unimpressed with the new addition, but now they get along great.

So, long story short, they figure they''re stuck with him!

And they need a name. Our own dog is Kim, so they want something that doesn''t sound too similar. Something short and easy to say. We''ve come up with Sam, Max and Jack so far, but none of those seem to be perfect. My favourite is Monty. Mum''s not quite convinced...

Look at this little guy! What name comes to mind?

How 'bout Franklin (Frankie) or Edison (Eddie)? Seeing as how all were obsessed with electricity. If he keeps up the habit, he will become a Sparky.

He is a cutie!

Pip.

He looks like a "Mack" to me

Dex? I like Frankie too, so cute!

He is adorable! That is so wonderful and amazing of you for giving him a good home. Thank you! I like whoever suggested sparky even though it was tongue and cheek.

My pup was addicted to eating through macbook cords and loves hot sauce- it was a rough first few weeks.

Funny, "Jack" was the first name that came to mind - but then I thought that was over stating the obvious (still, I think it would be a fun name). Monty is cute too and I think Pip is different, but in a good way.

Maddox came to mind when I saw his face. Not normal, and not even a conventional name.....

I like Eddie! And btw your parents are wonderful people!

I like Pierre

He looks like a Walter (Walt) to me. :)

thanks sba771 and junebug! They say they''re lucky they can give him a good home.

Eddie and Frankie are lovely names, but are the names of two close family members

WINSTON!

What a cute little guy! He looks kind of like a Simon to me. :)

He''s a "Herman" if I''ve ever seen one. It''s the eyes. The minute I saw his picture I thought "Herman!"

So adorable. Congratulations to you and your family for the new addition!

Oh he''s a cutie! He tagged along, so you could call him Tag. Tex. Um..how about Slick? Whenever we discuss names for the future puppy, that''s the name he swears he wants.

I see Midas.

How about Max or Toby?

Benji.

I was looking at puppies on petfinder.com the other day and there was a puppy who looks similar to your new dog and his name was "Newton", I thought it was very cute and different. I''ve never met a dog named Newton.

Miles?

don''t ask me why but Skip comes to mind

i love how his tail is in mid-wag in your photo
