No engagements. (for those who are looking for that kind of news
)
Thursday night, I drive up to visit SO. I was SHOCKED on the drive up, that he answered the phone and actually talked to me for the last hour of the drive. He usually checks in with me, then goes back to cleaning, so I was really excited. He talked me all the way to the door.
When he opens the door, he is waiting for me with two glasses of champagne! MMMMMmmmm! We drink our champagne before watching Obama speak at the DNC convention. He has to work in the morning.
The next day, we talk midday about the Palin news! Then he comes home from work with a HUGE cake! I told him to get me a tiny little one, but he got a big one because he knew I was having a b-day party that night. It''s all very cute. I asked him if he was tired and wanted to take a nap (he is always tired!), and he asks, "Is that an option???" HAHA.
I let him nap for 2 hours. I get him up, and we go to Boston Market (romantic, huh?) and have dinner at the table, by candle light. We usually eat sitting on the bed, so this is a welcome change.
Then I start to get dressed, and he doesn''t rush me in spite of the fact that he is getting anxious about the time. We go out, and he buys me a few drinks(2), and a round of shots for all of my friends. (I told him not to buy me drinks that night)
We go home and pass out for a few hours (3am) before getting up at 6:45 to drive to UVA for a football game. He bought us tickets to the game, and to the official alumni tailgate for our alma mater (NOT cheap). We get to our friend''s house a little after 7am, and she is still sleep.
SO sleeps in the car while we go to pick another friend up, then I take over SO''s car and drive to UVA. As soon as he wakes up, he thanks me for driving, and offers to drive the rest of the way. LOL. We have 30 mins left of a 2.5 hr drive...
We have a good time at the game and tailgate, then drive home. On the way home, we pass a carnival, and I
carnivals, so he asks if I want to go and offers to stop. I am exhausted from the long day, so I decline, which is good. He was exhausted too.
We watch a movie, with wine, and go to bed.
On Sunday, we went to see Tropic Thunder, and went out for dinner. More wine and movies, and birthday cake. He sang for me again, and took pictures. (he grew up Jehovah''s witness, and isn''t used to birthday stuff) It was very cute. On Monday, we went out riding on his motorcycle, and he stops in a parking lot and starts teaching me how to ride! This was totally out of the blue, and his bike is his pride and joy! He kept saying he was only nervous that I would get hurt, and that if I dropped the bike, it would be ok. With his last bike, he told me emphatically that he wouldn''t let me ride it because I might drop it.
We are making progress people! Anyway, I listen and learn and don''t drop the bike.
He is pleased, and takes some pictures of me on his bike. Then, on the way home, he popped his first wheelie with me on the back of his bike. It wasn''t super high, and it was so fast that I didn''t know WHAT happened, but he was SOOOOOOOO thrilled. When we got home, he was just kissing and hugging me, and going on about how excited he was that his first wheelie was with me, and then he about torn my clothes off in the parking lot!
More movies, wine and cake, and we wrapped up our weekend.
No rings or jewelry (his gift was paying for my dog to be spayed like I asked), but a wonderful weekend nonetheless. And anyway, our 5th anni is next month...
I''m not expecting a ring then either, just more
, wine, cake and movies!
