My weight loss progression

You look AWESOME! Beautiful before and after, but you certainly look more fantastically fit now.

Dreamer, I signed up for WW online about 6 weeks ago. I think I mentioned it somewhere on PS, but I like it. It's like a big game to me, and now it's just a habit to go log in my food/activities. I refuse to go to meetings (not my thing) but have a WW buddy from PS who I am having a great time chatting with. We both weigh in every Monday so it keeps me honest.

It's essentially calorie counting (and there are plenty of free websites to help you do that) but I hate calorie counting because I have a hard time adding more than 2+2. With WW, I have no problem counting, since it's such a small number!

I've lost 6.5 lbs (officially, although this morning's weigh in, it looks closer to about 7.5-8 lbs) in 6 weeks. Doesn't seem like a ton, but it's steady weightloss that I can see, because I'm actually measuring myself around the waist as well. It's also a bit thing to me that I'm still journaling every day. TGuy once did a calorie counting spreadsheet for me and I think I used it for all of about 4 days. I hated logging, but the WW interface is easy and fun.

Good luck Dreamer! I know for myself, I just couldn't deal with the fact that Amelia was 2 years old and I was the same weight as when I left the hospital with her. I should have tried harder to get my milk flowing, damn it!

A "game" is the PERFECT PERFECT way to describe it. Almost like a "hobby" and a "habit"

True. Btw, there is a WW thread in the Healthy forum if anyone wants it revived.

Many congrats, Autumn! You look stunning! I also used WW and achieved my goal. I needed a structured program. Doing it on my own just didn't work. I am so happy for you

AN, thanks so much for sharing this! I got my first reality check regarding how much weight I had gained when DH and I got our wedding album. I was pretty bummed that I had ballooned so much, but I guess I just wasn''t really ready to make a major lifestyle change. My BFF is getting married in September, and I''m a bridesmaid--the thought of looking in her wedding album the way I looked in mine was the kick in the butt that I needed to really get serious about losing some weight. I''m sure you''ll understand what I mean when I say that sometimes along the way, it gets so frustrating that you need a reminder that it''s even worth the effort. Today was one of those days for me until I saw this, so thanks for providing the extra incentive so that I actually got off my buns and did my Jillian Michaels for today!

You are seriously beautiful and I agree with DD that you also looked beautiful at what you say was your "heavy" picture. Congratulations! Awesome job!

I did see that you were doing it TGal and I was going to ask you about it! I am so happy you are seeing success! DH and I are both doing it online as well so it is nice to have a partner. I really like the calorie tracking tool, very user friendly. I also like how you can log your excercise, I find it challenging to log as much as possible and to have a number associated with it so it is quantifiable. So the game element is there. DH also likes it a lot and finds it motivating. He never would keep a food diary, much as I pestered. I too used to write my calories down, but obviously I was not being strict enough because after calorie counting for a month or more I lost only 2lbs. So now we mean business
11.gif
I found out one of my close friends also had success on it.

I managed to lose 55lbs of baby weight (moe like 25lbs of fat though, I gained a lot of water) but still have 5lbs hanging on
14.gif
So BFing was worth it in that respect, since I did nothing else to lose that weight. Still, next time I will *not* be gaining 60lbs

Here is something funny... we signed up last night but I suprised DH with my decision for us both
12.gif
We logged our calories for the day and I was on target... he on the other hand spent the day golfing with business associates and managed to eat.. drumroll please... 59 points! haha... almost double his daily allowance. Thank goodness for flex points. He also logged 10 activity points so I suppose he is forgiven. We had some good laughs and still talk about that day, it is so much food! The really funny thing is that he came home and said he was really good at dinner because he only had one plate of food! Amazing how you can be so out of touch.

Sorry for the thread jack AN

But it is related, right?

Wow, you look FABULOUS!!! Congrats on losing so much weight!

It looks great on you! That must've taken a lot of discipline and hard work.

Gorgeous dress and shoes, too.......

Dreamer, thanks, I will post there....

Thanks again, ladies :)

I''ll be going on the WW thread shortly

Thanks for posting. You look amazing! I''ve put on a ton of weight in the past year, and have been miserable, but have done nothing about it. You''ve officially inspired me. I have a friend who does WW, and when I saw your thread, I asked her about it and she suggested tagging along with her next week to a meeting. I hate calorie counting...do they simplify it enough for you that it doesn''t become overly tiresome?

Parrot, I''m so glad I can be an inspiration. It''s really a huge compliment when someone tells me that!!

It *MAY* seem like it''s annoying to count points in the beginning but two weeks into you''ll already start memorizing the points for various foods and it''s just going to become imbedded into your brain, I absolutely promise. I can''t wait to hear how your meeting goes. Feel free to ask me ANY questions, ANY time :)

Wow! You look amazing...you are a true beauty and that dress is super flattering! Congratulations on all of your hard work!
