Wedding My wedding is 7 months away, and I still dont have a DJ

Haha no, you don't need to be worried!

Well, unless you live in a big city that has only one DJ.

We used gigmasters.com to find our DJ and ceremony musicians. I wasn't aware at the time, but they submit your info to other entertainment groups that meet your criteria (not just the one you actively contact). We have 10 days until our wedding, and we're STILL getting contacted to see if we are still looking for a DJ!!

So don't freak out, but you might as well cross it off your list as soon as you can. No sense in waiting on it and then kicking yourself if the DJ you want is no longer available.

thank you musey , you made me feel better. I just dont know what the hell im doing. But your right I have to cross it off my list asap. Right now that all im going to worry about for now till the dress shopping with the bridesmaids again.

I do recommend using gigmasters.com, it was very useful for us. Just make sure to un-check the box about them sending your info to vendors similar to the one you contact... I''ve gotten at least 50 phone calls over the past 6 months from that!

BLissful, I just met with my DJ last week. And my wedding is...well less then a month.

Now I dont recommend cutting it that close, but you are by no means in danger. I would think 3-6 months is a more average time. Unless you are in a small area and dont have alot of options.

I used gigmasters and had several people still available for my date and FI and I LOVE the person we picked out.

I got my DJ one week before my wedding and finalized the entire song list in three days.

If you have a GOOD DJ, they will be able to put everything together for you in whatever timeframe they''re given. I don''t recommend booking until 6 months or less unless you''re booking a hot date (like if you had been on 07-07-07 or 08-08-0 because doing so has a tendency to push it to the back of your mind.

I would only worry if you had your heart set on someone that is highly recommended on the Knot those vendors book fast!

I got my dj 1.5 months before the wedding. I as asking my friends for recommendations and finally I decided to use gigmasters.com since all of my "leads" were not good. The DJ was either booked or someone I didn''t want to use. I thought I would get cheesy vendors, but I was wrong. I should have used them earlier. It was easy to use and we got great musicians.
