Oh, and fire warning season has already begun since they are having high temps (107 degrees F) with low humidity and high winds. But since Camp Fire burned so much and so extensively last season, I wonder how they will fare this year. ‍ I have asthma, so that’s another reason why I don’t want to visit until October— if they fires start up again, obviously the air quality will be bad.

Hopefully the fires have burned enough that it will not be a bad season this year for them. I grew up in rural Australia and have seen a few bad bushfires.

I hope you are also on the mend!!!!

Thanks, I had two bad pain days this week, but mostly I feel over the hump and on my way. It’s just taking time— I’m about 7 weeks post dx.

Yes, last season was a ridiculously bad season. There is even a video of a guy who was driving with his friends out of the woods and the fire overcame them and he jumped out his car and rolled down a hill, etc. He took video going back when it was over and his friends were charred to a crisp in smoking cars— totally blackened dusty bones and he was like “those were my friends 20 minutes ago.” (Sorry that is so gross, but that is how it happened). He left his dog in his car (??!!) and the dog survived and was ok.

Yay for your SIL and BIL! Lovely house and I think the new color is great. That area is very nice but wayyyy too hot for me. Shasta Lake is a wonderful lake for boating, camping, etc. The drive to the coast isn't too terrible but the highway is a small and winding two lane.
