I had the original thread deleted since she bought one we had discussed.

Here is the view from her new front door:

Apparently it’s even better than this pic, which was taken years ago, as some of the trees are no longer there.

Wanted to update. That was a fun thread. Thanks to all who participated.

Thank you.. I had been wondering..

Oh wow @whitewave, it's freakin' gorgeous and going to be awesome for them!

So excited! When am I getting an invite to come hang out for beers? ;)2 :mrgreen2:

I know, it’s a seriously cool property with a view! We all need to hang out and admire the volcano lol

I also found out that from the roof, you can see the entire valley, so I’m trying to convince them to put up a widow’s walk in line with the style.

The are painting inside and out (it won’t be yellow soon... all of their houses have been yellow and so they want a change) and are putting in a pool, changing the kitchen countertops, ripping out the carpet and trying to maybe make a structural change with the elevated exposed walkway by the foyer.

So glad they finally found something that they love!

congrats, it is great

YAY !~ May she have many happy years and memories there!

If it's the one I'm thinking it is, that one was my favorite as well due to the acreage. anything inside a house can be changed, but you can't change the real estate. Exciting!

I get a little paranoid with posting the listing because the address would be visible. You never know who is lurking on these boards.

It’s this one:

I was thinking of the one with the pond. I can't tell. They were all nice properties.

Yes, it had a pond. It’s currently dry since the owners took down the weeping willow that was on the banks. My BIL and the owner are trying to troubleshoot how to keep the water in. Of course, California has been in a drought, that it could be related to the water table etc

Gorgeous house and location!!!

It looks huge!

The photos look amazing! And oh my gosh, I didnt even notice the volcano in the background as I was too busy fawning over the barn structure. My fiance and I hope to buy property similar to this someday where I could keep a horse. Are you able to share the region or county in CA?

Norcal. Upper NorCal. I just googled and it seems it could be called upstate CA

That is a beautiful transformation! Those colors suit the house so much better than the yellow! I am happy for them that they have a home that they love.

It’s such a dramatic transformation. They put the quartz countertops in too. It’s pretty. I’ll try to find a pic tomorrow

Wow! I'm thinking maybe it's a view of mount tam. I am also in Norcal but in the middle of the city so I definitely dont see any houses like that in my immediate area.

Hopefully it isn't a place that has the really bad bushfires? I'm looking at all those trees wondering. I'm an Aussie so I don't know that area at all.

Ah, I lied! Looks like it's actually mount shasta!

I’ll give you a hint. It’s either Mt. Lassen or Mt. Shasta

It is. That was the back story on the thread I deleted. They had under contract a nice house with a pool on 5 acres filled with fruit trees and the Camp fire tore through and burned so much of it all down, including the house they were supposed to close on 2 weeks later. (As in the house burned to the ground and nothing was left except the pool)

They moved there for my BIL’s dream job and after 6 months there (they honored one year since they moved to the area specifically for that job), he was laid off for next year because of the damage, so he is currently looking for a job. They LOVE the area though (they had been in the Bay Area for over a decade) and they LOVE their house, so they are now both looking for a job in the area. (My sis is a RN and still commutes to San Jose twice a month to work a stretch of days while staying at different friends’ houses— it’s getting old)

I was supposed to go visit in April or May but I broke my leg (big stress fracture actually) and since it’s already well into the 100s now, I likely won’t go until around October. I want to be able to so outdoorsy things when I go, so here’s hoping.

Oh, and fire warning season has already begun since they are having high temps (107 degrees F) with low humidity and high winds. But since Camp Fire burned so much and so extensively last season, I wonder how they will fare this year. ‍♀️ I have asthma, so that’s another reason why I don’t want to visit until October— if they fires start up again, obviously the air quality will be bad.
