So life sucks for us right now. It’s ok. I’m dealing with it, doing stress release, walking my dogs etc.

In addition to continuing to deal with the aftermath of my 34 year old BIL’s suicide in September, I am also handling a 12.5 year old lawsuit for my MIL who now has dementia.

The trial was supposed to be 2 weeks ago but was continued again until the end of the month. MIL is the defendant and the lawsuit is frivolous. I’ll tell you all about it after it is over and we win.

I had to hire a bodyguard because the plaintiff is a psycho.

Btw, My SIL isn’t doing well, obviously. Her 6 month old now has to wear a helmet 23 hours a day for flat head and her nearly 2 year old is... well.. 2 year old. So if you are a praying person, please keep them in your prayers or send love and light etc. thanks.

So for the trial, I’m having to put together a professional outfit. I didn’t have a zip top tote and need something to hold all my things for 2 eight hour days.

I found this on sale at Lord and Taylor. The color is wonderful— hard to get a good pic that truly represents the color.

It’s Karl Lagerfeld. I love the little bells on the side.

I wanted something neutral that wasn’t flashy or showy.

I love it!!!

I'm so sorry to hear about the frivolous lawsuit. I swear my husband had a heart attack because he had to deal with a manager that he demoted. She came back and accused him of age prejudice (he demoted a 53 year old and hired a 51 year old), harrassment (she was the one harassing him to hire her daughter - don't all mothers want their daughters to work in an environment of harrassment?) and everything under the sun, including **** on a computer. The "****" as it turned out was my hip with a huge bruise on it from skiing - he had been looking at photos of our trip. Every single one of her allegations was dismissed as without merit after a long period of stress and aggravation. But now I'm a **** star!

Just try to stay chill. I know it's tough. Thinking good thoughts for your SILand her kids.

As a pocketbook fanatic I can say the Lagerfield is perfect, beautful and I covet it.

So sorry for all of this trauma and drama. Wish there was a magic wand to wave. Best of luck on the trial whitewave - - - sending you dust to diamonds... :)

Whitewave I am So very sorry to hear of all these stressful events. Hugs...and hang in there. xx

Meanwhile, your new purse is gorgeous. Love the shape, the finish and those adorable tassles. Enjoy!

Best prayers and wishes to you and your family @whitewave. I love the purse and it is pretty while still being understated. Good luck to you at the trial.

@doberman wow! I’m sorry to hear you had a similar stage 5 clinger. I’m glad it worked out, but so sorry your DH had a heart attack!! I did start taking an 81 mg aspirin just in case. (Though I think for women my age, that works to prevent stroke over heart attack. In any case, I’ll take any protection).

I am trying very hard to stay chill. It is finals week for my two sons and the panicky one gave me a texting play by play of his panic attack during class the other day, which sent me into a dark place. Thank god I had a therapy appointment yesterday. I also bought myself the same CBD vape oil pen he likes, the Koi stick. I’ve been sucking on that lol.

@Tekate thank you! Yes, when I opened the box for the purse, I was like “oh, YES!” It was even better in person than it looked online. They also have an E/W version. I do have to say that Lord and Taylor shipping sucks bad. Overnight takes 2 days. Thank you for the diamond dust for the trial, we obviously expect to win, but my attorney tells me you can’t expect any verdict at trial.... it’s the wild Wild West.

@Jimmianne thank you also. The tassels have some rhinestones on them— totally perfect.

You know, as I wrote that all out, I kept thinking I was forgetting something.

Oh, yes, two Friday’s ago my security cameras caught my mentally ill and deranged estranged sister trespassing on my second home property (AGAIN, for the umpeenth time)— she even tried to open the door.

So I had to go back to New Orleans and call the sheriff and get a report written up. They want me to get a restraining order on her. They prefer RO first, then arrest. Any one can get a civil RO for $490 and a hearing. Luckily, there is no time crunch on this... for domestic violence it is free, so I guess the $490 helps to defer the cost of those. So I will get one on her, but not until after the trial. I can also pay my atty to handle it.

I’ve basically been back and forth to NOLA from my house since Christmas. I’ve hardly seen DH who is working extra and like a dog to pay for the trial ($28,000 and counting) and any possibly judgements against MIL. (but she gave us a small post WWII house in a tony neighborhood that is worth a lot, so while we sure do mind wasting our money on this trial, we are because she gave us a house).

I’m back home now. DH has off this weekend so he wants to go offshore fishing this weekend. I told him I can’t go back right now. So it’s another weekend we won’t be together. It’s ok. We will be ok. It just sucks. He needs his time and who would complain about fresh caught salt water fish!!

This sounds like such a sad sack post. You know what they say about seasons in life. I don’t like this season, but hopefully the trial part will be forever over at th end of the month.

Thank you @redwood66 it helps to know I am supported and heard. I can’t talk to MIL about this and DH can hardly handle it. I’m sort of just holding it all in and waiting for it to be over.

I agree the purse is pretty and understated. It was also nice to get a little something fun during all of this.

You know, I am mildly entertained by the body guard. The cost is $150 a day and he is ex NOPD. He is going to meet me at my car in the parking garage. For $250 a day, he would meet me at my house and we would drive together, but I don’t think I need that part. Subject to change though...

@doberman I’m cracking up at your **** star status

And oh! The good news is if we win, they have to pay our legal bills back. I wouldn’t expect them to actually do that, but I would love to put leins on all of their houses. (Main plaintiff is the psycho, and 3 minor plaintiffs, one is pure loud mouth trash).

Oh my gosh the body guard. It is a sad state of affairs that you have to do it in the first place but better safe than sorry. Pardon me, and no offense intended at all my friend, if I get a tiny giggle out of picturing you with one since we are all just normal people doing our normal stuff. Pretend you're Lady Gaga with your body man.

You need a bodyguard? Oh, that is bad. I went to get some skates a few years ago in NYC and the assistant thought my husband was my bodyguard. He was surprised when I called him over for an opinion.

Make sure he's cute. Maybe a cross between Jason Statham and Kevin Costner.

Sounds pretty shitty. Sending you BIG hugs from across the miles & you rock that bag when it’s time!

@redwood66 oh believe me, I have played people’s court in my head where doors open and I walk in all professional looking and with a body guard... and the music.

One side note, my bodyguard is the owner of the security company and he spoke at my BIL’s funeral, so it’s just like J that even after death, he is still connecting people. The bodyguard is a SLICK dresser, and the plaintiff lawyer wears rumpled, wrinkled, ill fitting JC Penny suits. So I made a point to text my lawyer to tell him my bodyguard better not look better than he does and he better step it up and not have a wrinkled suit, lol. He replied it’s not Armani but it’s a good suit 8-)

He’s more like.... let me think... a black George Clooney. Sharp milk chocolate.

Thanks, yes, it’s very shitty. Exactly right. Thank you for the thoughts. Yeah, I am planning my look down to every detail. Hair up, high neck black blouse (no bazooms out), blazer, slacks, flat shoes, etc. I did research on what to wear. Nothing flashy.

Love the purse...Everyone needs a little Karl L. in their lives.

It’s my first piece by him. We have just not crossed paths before. Thnaks

@doberman I’m so sorry you dealt with that.

@whitewave what a beautiful purse! I’m so sorry that someone is trying to take advantage of your mother. :x2

@whitewave I am so sorry about all of this. You are in my prayers.

If you ever need to get away come to Houston. We could go to whiteflash and all our cares would be gone, at least for an afternoon!

Hugs to you! And love the purse!

I am so sorry @whitewave. Praying for your SIL and the kids. Life is so hard sometimes, I know. We have hit a bit of a rough patch ourselves. Your sounds so very difficult in sooo very many ways. Praying you have victory on all fronts and things smooth out.

The bag is fabulous and I am sure you will make a fantastic impression with it on, I love everything about it. Just perfection.

Sorry you and your family is going through this, whitewave. Sending you positive vibes for a speedy resolution to the trial!

Sending well wishes. I hope you and your family stop getting the short end of the stick soon!

@strawrose thank you. It’s so aggravating because the accusations are ridiculous.

@ceg that sounds like such a good plan. I would love to visit WF with you, hummm, maybe after the trial. I’m not good company right now.

@luv2sparkle I’m sorry to hear you are also in a rough patch right now. I hope you it clears soon. Thanks for your prayers. I’ll pray for your family too.

Thank you, @JPie I need to finish strong and I’m so exhausted mentally. I hope it is speedy.

@MeowMeow thank you for your thoughts. Hopefully life will be brighter shortly.

I am so sorry to hear all of this @whitewave! It sounds like you are handling things admirably, but I will be sending you dust and positive energy in hopes that things will work out in the best way possible. These challenges in life can be so daunting, but I am trying to learn to find strength in the struggle! In any case, please keep us posted on things! And on a lighter note, I love your purse!!

You've really had a lot on your plate as of late and I too am sorry for your struggles. Trying to support your SIL in these very difficult times and facing a trial for your MIL must be daunting at best. I will certainly keep you all in my thoughts.

Just don't lose your sense of humor - sometimes that's all we have in trying times and there will be better days ahead. Please do keep us posted and as always, all the best to you and your family. The purse is spectacular and I hope it will give you that extra boost of self confidence as the trial approaches!

Thank you. Happily he has recovered. I take 81mg aspirin as well. But studies show it's not as effective for women as it is for men.

Thanks @carbonfan yes, I have learned that we must find something in the struggle. I’m also trying to “hold space” or whatever they say in Yoga :sun: you know, just kind of put the worry aside but acknowledge it’s there.

@MissGotRocks thank you. That People’s Court theme really helps me out lol. I will keep you all updated.

@doberman I agree, but I’ll take one anyway. I am sort of worried that my stress level are in the very unhealthy range, so I’m trying to figure out things to do to help with that.

@whitewave You are in my prayers. My mom also had a court case where the plaintiff was a "friend" and a passenger in my mom's car. A car was passing by and lightly tapped my mom's car and slightly displaced a small part (where you can easily push them back in from the interior). My mom is a responsible driver and decided to call the police because the car was leased. My mom's "friend" decided to try to make a quick buck and sued my mom's insurance. It lasted a few years and the "plaintiff" lost but it was super nerve-racking and another lesson to not to trust most people.
I'm curious, what is that CBD Koi Vape? Does it work? Is it safe? I have anxiety so I was looking for something to calm me down.

@whitewave I am so sorry you and your family are continuing to go through so much stress and dealing with so much sadness and tragedy. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. One day at a time and when it gets even too stressful for that one hour at a time. Have you tried meditation to help with all the stress you are experiencing? I know it can be helpful for many people. (((Hugs))).

I think that pocketbook is lovely.

Love the purse. In fact, I have been looking at it and ones like it online for myself.

So sorry to hear about the rest. It sounds awful. Hopefully you can get court costs repaid to you as part of the judgement if (and when) things go your way.

Do you know what CBD oil is? So this is it in vape juice but you can also take the vape juice under your tongue.

https://koicbd.com/

So I bought th Koi stick vape pen: https://koicbd.com/product/koi-stik/

And the green apple vape juice you use to fill the vape pen cartridge: https://koicbd.com/shop/cbd-vape-juice/

We get the 500mg one, but my son probably might need to try the 1000mg at some point.

I bought green apple but my son has tropical popsicle. The only issue is their visa or MC merchant is in the UK (something with banks in the us don’t want to deal in CBD products right now— but I hope that changes since Trump signed the farm bill). So I use my MC credit card and get declined the first time, and then I get a fraud alert text and I click yes I made this purchase and it tells me to try again, so I go back to the check out page and it goes though. Now that I have made repeat purchases, they all go through now.

yThey also have CBD products for pets.

I’m sorry your mom went thought that. This is a probate case and they want over 6 figures. And their “final settlement” offer lol was the same 6 figures they have wanted for 12.5 years. We offered 10k in an attempt to not go to trial. They are so stupid, they made it better for me to go to trial than to settle with them.
