So Tekate ...
Do men stare at your new pair, and say, "Wow! Baby, are those REAL!?!"

Men run! from my 64 year old crinkly beauty, not my husband though, unless he doesn't have his glasses one!

Hi, Kate-

I had not opened this thread. I didn't know it was about you or about teeth or that you were in pain. When I saw you allude to being in pain and being grateful to the people who had been kind to you I came to see what you had gone through. i am so sorry that things went awry. Is that because of the accident you were in in the past? I had an implant done with absolutely no drama at all. It was years ago when the procedure was new. My mother (who passed away in 2008) was still living and she became frantic when I told her I was going to have the oral surgery, so I told her I cancelled it and arranged to drive myself to the dentist (oral surgeon) rather than have my father drive me so that she wouldn't know I was going. Of course I wasn't sure it would be OK, but I went there alone and it was. I didn't need painkillers other than the Motrin and i was fine immediately. I am so sorry that you had a bad experience.

Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

Hugs,
Deb

HI Deb! -
Thank you so much.. Yes, I've had my mouth operated on and wired so many times.. I always survive, I am whiner Deb :)

Wow Deb, glad you made it home okay!! I won't do any comedy :Up_to_something: about my first implants back in 2011ish, suffice to say, my son wanted to call 911 (my younger guy, he's such a sweetie) and i remember my husband saying !!! Kate Kate Kate wake up, I dropped my starbucks iced caramel latte (extra extra extra caramel the grande of grandes)on our rug my son is crying Mom, don't die.. Needless to say that dentist (this time Deb I picked a guy who went to Harvard who is and MD and DDS :) ) overmedicated me and it took 2 days to come to earth.. (while gone, I didn't miss anything but the danged latte!).. all kidding aside, I'm glad yours went easier.. when my son (the younger one, the one who's never given me any problems - YET! ;-) ) had his wisdom teeth out, after surgery he said over and over "Mom, i need to play my guitar" of course he didn't have one and refused to play in the school because his brother did.

You are a wonderful mother Deb and good soul.. thank you.

mucho peace and love.

I am so, so sorry about your first implant experience, Kate. I have all my dental procedures done with Novocaine. (I know it is no longer actually Novocaine, but I do not know what local anesthetic is now used.) I am guessing that it was the anesthesia that caused you to pass out? You wrote that you were overmedicated. (I do not know where else you could have been overmedicated so that you would pass out.) I let them give me whatever general anesthesia-type stuff they want when I have a colonoscopy, but not when I have dental work. I once had "laughing gas" for an extraction of four teeth as a child and it was such a nightmare that I vowed never to have anything other than local ever again.

This reminds me of an aunt who had a mastectomy and got implants. She asked me if I saw her new boobs. I looked at her feet. I thought she said BOOTS. She made a comment about hoping they weren't on the ground.....    I was so embarrassed.

Hope your feeling better today. Yay on the suit progress. I'm sure you have your dress. Care to share a pic?
