I HATE MY VENUE I HATE MY VENUE I HATE MY VENUE I HATE MY VENUE I HATE MY VENUE!!!!!! We scheduled our rehearsal on mother''s day (that was sunday, may 11, 2008 for anyone who''s curious). i reconfirmed the date and time on august 23rd. apparently, our venue appoints a random employee as your day-of coordinator, from whom i received an email the other day wanting a meeting to figure out any last-minute details. in my response to the planner, i mentioned something about the rehearsal date and time. i got a rather snippy email back informing me that our rehearsal date and time weren''t possible because they have a wedding scheduled at 7 pm, and their "other brides have the facilities for the day after noon just as you will". the email continued with a couple of other available dates and times available, one of which was a couple of DAYS before the wedding and the other was the morning of the wedding! keep in mind that our venue is an hour away from our hometown (which is where hair, makeup, etc. is being done, so there''s no way we''d be able to get that done and make it to the venue on the day of with enough time to do a rehearsal--we''re pushed for time as it''s currently scheduled!), and most of our wedding party is coming in from out of town, so they can''t just change their plans with only two weeks notice and fork over money for accommodations to be here for another full day and night! not to mention, we''ve already told everyone the date and time, and our officiant is from out of town, so we''ve already paid her to be here for two nights and for her accommodations! I. AM. FURIOUS.

I''d be ALLLL over them until they fixed it!!! So sorry they''re such dummies!

I''m so sorry your venue did this to you. With only two weeks before the wedding and all the travel plans made, I think your best solution is to hold the rehearsal at a different location than the wedding. Good luck!

I totally agree! You can go to the venue some other time and measure the distance you''ll have to walk down the aisle if you want. That''s what I will be doing, because my venue did not even give me the option to have a rehearsal.

The main thing that has me so upset is that this isn''t the first time they''ve told us something and not honored it, and because it''s the owners that keep doing this and they run everything, I don''t want to piss them off because I''m afraid they''ll ruin our actual wedding. i have ZERO faith in the people who are going to be running the show, so I''m going to have absolutely no peace of mind whatsoever on the day of. i''m also really worried because they just got their own liquor license, and we booked the place specifically because they said we could bring our own alcohol, so i''m afraid that they''ll try to go back on that, too. i really wanted to do the rehearsal there to make sure everyone in the wedding party could find the place (it''s out in the boonies about an hour away from home in the middle of nowhere). people don''t just book their wedding venue at the last minute--they have to have known for a while now that they had a wedding at 7 and our rehearsal date and time wouldn''t be possible, but they never bothered to give us a call?!?! THE DAY AFTER my wedding, i''ll be posting negative reviews on them EVERYWHERE I CAN POSSIBLY THINK OF! i''ve been crying for an hour already--i''ve worked sooooo hard on getting everything together, and they keep messing stuff up!!! URGH! Thanks for listening and for giving me some feedback. I guess I should start looking for somewhere else to have a rehearsal.

That would make me furious

Is there anything at all that they can do? I''d start looking out for somewhere else to have it but I''d still get onto them and get them to sort it out. Sending hugs!

I''m afraid it''s not much help to you, but perhaps to future brides...that''s why you get a contract in writing that specifies everything, including bringing in own liquor, etc. When it''s all written down, there''s no room for misunderstandings or interpretations.

I have to agree with this from a professional standpoint. So many things can lost in translation, mixed up, and just basically confused. Having a contract in writing gives you the peace of mind that if something dumb or even something deliberate happens, you have legal ramifications to back it up. I''m sure you thought booking your wedding with them would mean that you were entitled to also having a rehearsal, howver it sounds like the venue plays by its own rules....nuts as they may be...

And on a personal note...I am mad as heck for you. I think you should find another location to host your rehearsal...I think it would be the most stressless way to to solve this problem.

Best of luck, and big big hugs.

ETA: Could you request a rehearsal before noon the day before your wedding? Since you''d have to vacate the site prior to 12....but it would still be the day before, on site..I would guess most of the key players will already be there since you''d only be pushing it up a handful of hours...and instead of a rehearsal dinner, you could have a cute rehearsal lunch?!

Oh man Doodle this is not cool!

I am so sorry!

I agree with Italia, is there any way to have the rehearsal at like 10 am?
