I had my trial when I was home last week. I loved the hairstylist and he''s really talented. I cannot believe the volume he got out of my hair (which is just beyond shoulder length)! While I love aspects of the style he made for me, I will be asking for some modifications. I''d be interested to hear your thoughts!

The makeup - well, I was not as happy. It was super light, and even when I asked her to make it more dramatic, it still isn''t photographing well. It''s a very NATURAL look, but it also wore off after 4 hours! Seriously, 4 hours! On my wedding day, the makeup will be done 4 hours before we walk down the aisle, so that''s no good.

I am looking into another makeup artist that my mom has used, and she will do a trial in August when I''m home for my final shower.

Anyhow, I would love to hear your thoughts!

Here is a frontal shot, showing the full hair and makeup. Note that I don''t have my veil on in these pics.

So, I think it looks OK - I like the hair from the front, but the makeup is a little too everyday. Later I''ll show a side pic where you can''t really see any makeup on at all!

I don't see any pictures

ETA: I must've been posting while you were.

Here is a side view of my hairstyle. I cannot BELIEVE how much hair it looks like I have! He teased the heck out of it ;)

I''ll post a few more pics and then discuss the modifications I''d like.

The veil is meant to be tucked into the "dent".

Here''s another back view of the head.

I LOVE your hair - it's very classic and elegant. It also makes you look like you have a lot of hair haha I can see what you're saying about your makeup. Although some brides want to look natural for their wedding day because they don't usually wear makeup/don't like a lot of it, I definitely want to look dramatic for my wedding pictures as well. Four hours will be nothing compared to the length of your wedding day! Hopefully you can find someone who can better suit your needs and see your vision.

ETA: I see what you mean about the placement of the bun. I'm sure it's doable to accomodate where you want your veil. I do like the style of your hair though.

Next, a side view. NOTE: I''m not wearing any makeup in this pic!

Now, I am not as thrilled with the side view. I think the bangs part is too side and should be narrowed. I also think the style makes my face look even more oblong than it is. Ideally I think I''d have the whole thing moved up on my head, so that the bun area is higher, and the pouf follows the shape of my head rather than out from the crown. Does that make sense?

And here is a side shot with FULL MAKEUP! I think it doesn''t look like I''m wearing a thing.

I would like more dramatic eyes, and more defined cheekbones. I''m just not seeing that here.

Also, this shows more of what I''m talking about with the hair. I just think the bun part sits in a weird spot on my head. I think if it were brought up on my head, that would be more flattering. It just kind of looks like it juts out and makes me look more angular. I think if it''s brought up, it could look softer with my features.

And I do have the cathedral length mantilla, so I think if that gets tucked into the bun, it will be better to have the bun higher on my head.

Anyhow, bring it on, ladies!!

Thank you IndyGirl! I spoke with the stylist afterwards and he agreed it would be an easy fix. He''s a really upbeat, positive guy so I think he''ll keep me relaxed on the big day!

With regards to the makeup, I am just going for a really glamorous, elegant look and I told her that. It just didn''t translate, I guess.

I love your hair! You are so pretty! I love the make up the way it is but if you want more then I am sure you will look lovely with that too!

Sorry, I got distracted before. I LOVE the hair from the back. I see what you mean about the size view though. I also think it would be better with the modifications you''re suggesting.

I don''t think the makeup looks bad, but it definitely is a very natural look. Personally, I like a more dramatic look.

Do you have any inspiration pics of how you''d like your makeup to look? I feel a lot of makeup counters just go "safe default" if you say do whatever. Safe means no color, except for a silver or gold shimmer on the eyelids and a little bit of rosy color on the lips and cheeks that fades rather quickly. (which looks like what they did).

(Except for MAC which will do a semi-heavy smoky/silvery eye with pink! blush & pink! lips as their default)

Aw, thank you Maisie!

Robbie - I agree, I think dramatic is the way to go. Even if just for the eyes ...

Peridot - Great idea! I hadn''t shown any inspiration pics. I will find some and take to the new trial in August! Thanks!

Krissie, I see what you''re saying about the shape of the overall ''do, but I think it should be an easy fix with the modifications you''re suggesting. I also agree that your eyes and cheekbones could use a bit more definition, but I LOVE that lipcolor on you! You are going to be so beautiful!

Here''s another back view of the head.

Gorgeous! You and the do!

Sabine, you are so sweet! I did love the lipcolor, so I''m glad you like it as well! I am jealous of how awesome your eyes looked at your trial!

Holly, thank you so much!!

I LOVE your hair-do! It reminds me of my hairstyle! :) It really flatters you face. And your hair looks so shiny! But I agree about that one side view. I think it looks like it goes too straight back from your bangs or something. Maybe if it was tucked behind your ears? I dunno. Just an idea.

Do you know what kind of make-up your artist used? I am so surprised that it wore off so quickly. Mine felt like it lasted forever. My artist used the aerosol spray-type foundation and I think MAC or Bobbi Brown eyeshadow and blush. And just normal waterproof Maybelline mascara. It looks like the colors are very flattering to your face, but they just need to be darker. Or would you prefer different colors?

I had to mess with my make-up after my first trial too, so don''t worry. I think make-up is just such a personal thing and it feels so odd when someone else does it differently. But you look gorgeous regardless! So exciting!

It''s so funny - I immediately thought of you when I saw the pics of my own hairdo! So when are you going to share your gorgeous wedding pics???

She used Aveda products. I normally wear Bobbi Brown and Stila, which last quite a while on me. I did like the colors, but they seemed to fade in the photos. I am looking forward to trial #2!

Your hair looks SO gorgeous!

It''s very elegant and simple and flattering, and it will be even moreso the day-of when the stylist makes the small modifications that you suggested.

I see what you mean about the makeup, although you look beautiful nonetheless, and second the idea of bringing inspiration pictures to your new trial. Good luck!
