Oh no - that sucks, for sure. I hope you can find something fun and relaxing to do in the meantime - I''m sure everyone will understand that you can''t get back in time and will help you make it up.
My flight from here to my connection in Minneapolis was canceled, due to bad weather in Minn. Unfortunately, there are tons of flights from Minn. to Chicago, but two a day from here to Minn., and everything tomorrow is booked, so I have to wait until Monday.
It's not too big a deal missing my classes, except one of them is a year-long seminar, and the professor is NOT happy that I'm missing class - he made a point about how he must INSIST that I not miss any more for the rest of the year. Jerk. It's not like I put this off until the last minute and tried to miss my flight
But I'm glad that if my flight was canceled, it wasn't when I got to Minneapolis! I get to hang out with my mom for a couple more days, so I'm happy
I would try to get written confirmation of the flight cancellation/delay and I would hand a copy into said nutball prof; you can take the opportunity to get handouts etc from him. That way if you do have another emergency or whatever and miss another class during the year, he should not waive this instance in your face. It was entirely out of your control. He should not be giving you a hard time about it, but best to cover yourself if you can.
Thanks guys, you''re totally right about the proof. I think I''m going to send my canceled itinerary to our dean of students, who I already e-mailed (anticipating trouble from this one professor, I guess!), so she''ll know.
I also think I''m going to try to get out of another class I have with him this quarter - it''s a foundational course (Evidence) but I can take it next quarter with a different professor, who I like a lot since I had her last year for Civil Procedure.
Thanks for the support! As a result of the canceled flight, I did a MAJOR photoshoot of all my sparklies, and my mom''s diamonds, and my mom''s friend''s alexandrite I''m resetting for her. Hopefully I''ll be able to upload them all tomorrow night
Evidence is a pain in the bottom, you need to have a prof you get on with or you will tangle your brain in week 1. Try to take it when you have a light load. I envy you, I would love to be back in school....Sigh!
Hmm I think it might be better next quarter - 1) since I like the professor next quarter and already know her; and 2) I think my schedule is lighter.
This quarter I''m also going to be beating my head against wall thanks to Income Tax and Corporations, so maybe it''ll be better to just add another seminar instead of Evidence
I like seminars much, much better! They''re way more fun!
