This weekend Bo and I went into the ring for the first time and had a blast! I''m attaching a photo from the puppy sweeps competition (which is why he''s in the ring with a spaniel). The handler for the Spaniel is actually my handling instructor and took first, though we still took honors, which made he me happy. We competed in a group competition later in the day and took honors in that event as well, which was great because Bo was getting tired and I didn''t think we were going to make the cut--he just turned 6 months last week so I didn''t want to overwhelm him.

We also tested for the Canine Good Citizen certification between events and passed!

I think it''s just so cool how involved you are with them.

Here is a terrible picture of me baiting him--I''m having him reach too far, but oh well!

I know this is supposed to be about Bo, but I love your haircut!!!

Way to go NEL & Bo!

First shows can be really tough on a puppy, but it sounds like he took it well and we look forward to seeing him with some Winner''s ribbons in the future.

Way to go guys!!!

Yay! I love your dogs and I think it''s fantastic how involved you are with the breed. I''d love to see more pics!

Wow, he''s gotten so big since I last saw photos! How much does he weigh now?

He seems so teeny to me only because 1.) I see him every day and 2.) He''s always around Byron, so he seems small in comparison. He''s just a week over 6 months and is around 78 lbs. There was a 7-month old Mastiff in our second match and she was already over 90 lbs.--you try to get them to develop as slow and evenly as possible, but sometimes the growth just seems out of control!

Awww...what a gorgeous fluffy, hunky boy, I love him!

This makes me feel better about my 40 lb (or so, haven't weighed him in a while) 6 mo. old puppy!

YAY! Congratulations, NEL and Bo!
