my dog bites his nails.

has anyone ever seen this before?? i cut his nail too deeply one time, so we (meaning said dog and myself) are too terrified for me to do it anymore. so every few weeks i take him in to get them filed down. i did this just last week, but i''ve just noticed him biting his nails- something he does often! is this crazy? anyone else seen this?

I''ve had dogs my whole life and have never heard of this! I guess as long as it''s not affecting the dog''s health, sure cuts down on your grooming costs!!

I take my dogs to the groomer''s to have their nails clipped and for their baths every four weeks like clockwork, but my small dog will gnaw on her paw if her nails get too long. They must bother her. Their nails grow faster in summer time and sometimes they need to be cut in three weeks instead of four, but I won''t cut them anymore. They both give me too much of a hard time about cutting their nails. I wait for their groomer''s appt.
